Western NC. I live in a red county but a temperate rainforest so it sorta evens out. Trans ally. Politics and ecology, biodiversity, soil science. Poets always welcome.
I live in a college neighborhood and walk my dog 4 or 5 miles a day. He's a pretty boy, so we end up stopping to speak to a lot of students.
And fittingly, the press conference today was held outside the International Civil Rights Museum, housed in the Woolworths where in 1960, 4 NCA&T students refused to leave after being denied service, starting the sit-in movement.

Totally forgot this was coming and just opened my mailbox woohoo! Thanks, @asherelbein.bsky.social ! Only regret I didn't plan my day so I could sit down and devour the whole thing right now. (Reposted with alt texr).
Not the most spectacular wildflower photo, but grateful I live in a place where we have a couple hundred different types of native wildflowers that bloom in an astounding succession - every week and sometimes day-to-day the dominant blooms change. There is good in this world.
Bryson City, NC, population 1,558 at the 2020 census, 61% voted for Trump. Organizers estimate 250-300 people today!
