It’s new record day! The album is called Fenceline, and the band is Mildred. My record store didn’t think they could get a copy but surprised me today. Highly recommend this music for patio/deck/porch sittin’.

Been a tough few dogless weeks since the passing of our beloved Zoé, but today we brought home Naïa, and she is absolutely the sweetest. Everyone’s in love.
Just got back from 3 days off the grid in the Québec wilderness to discover that while we were away our 12-year old sheltie Zoé (who has arthritis) got chasing a cat in a neighbour’s yard and injured her leg. Can’t put any weight on it at all. Pretty worried what the vet will say tomorrow.
Spent most of the day out with the fam on the boat/fishing/hanging out on the island in the river. Now, my wife and I are finishing off some ceviche a couple of our friends made for us. Capping it all off with maybe my favourite beer. It’s a good day, folks.
These are the albums I’ve been enjoying so far this year. No ranking, but the Mildred record is an early favourite, so far, even if I think that’s a terrible band name. (I mean, so was “The Beatles” so.) Also, if music in French isn’t off-putting to you, check out Gab Bouchard.
Bonne St-Jean to all those celebrating. Our family spent most of the day on an island with some friends. Bagged a couple perch, but not enough for a meal. Gorgeous day. Headed back to watch the Canada game.
I like to imagine this AI cleaning robot feeling underpaid and undervalued. He walks out in the middle of his shift yelling "YOU do a better job of the bathrooms, DAVE," and just heads out on the town. The customers all stare. Would be the most human moment in the history of AI to date.
I waited a long time to buy this record because I wanted to find a used copy in decent shape that didn’t cost an arm and a leg, but that was stupid. I should have just severed an arm and a leg ages ago instead of not listening to this record for a long time.
So I've grown up Franco-Ontarian, but because of one Ukrainian grandpa, I've always been a Leafs fan. Been living in Québec for about a decade now (had to raise my kids in the motherland) and now the Habs are really fun? Feels like,

Welp. Someone found a kitten in a dumpster somewhere in Ottawa and now I guess we’re looking after her until she’s adopted.
One of my favourite Easter traditions comes from the Ukrainian side of our family: we hand-make about 50 pierogies and a massive platter of cabbage rolls.
