Founding editor of @longlead.com, an award winning journalism studio publishing features that make an impact. Formerly: @Fortune.com, and @TIME.com. Yup, they call me JPP.
Musk has been wanting to do this for 27 years. Here's the opening scene from LONG SHADOW: BREAKING THE INTERNET, ep. 2, the @longlead.com podcast hosted by @vermontgmg.bsky.social:
"Paramount also described the delay as a 'significant win.'" Down is the new up, folks.
That's the one! It's not in my family any more, but it's kind of wild that my mom grew up on, essentially, a farm in the middle of Dot! (Clarifying, I am NOT a Dot Rat — I know enough to not wear that crown falsely... I'm 2nd gen.)
But if you do listen to it (it's available for free in the Libby app), I recommend buying it too, because you're going to want to take notes...
"I'm No. 1 on the list for killing," said no one ever before today.
People constantly dunk on the Times, but this is objectively just great reporting:
AI industry perfectly encapsulated in a press release I got just now: Ai4—which will take place in August—was named the "Top AI Conference of 2026" by Ai4 in its "comprehensive ranking of the top AI conferences and events of 2026." It's beating shows from losers like: Nvidia, Amazon, Google, MSFT…
I think @noupside.bsky.social would agree that RFK Jr did plenty to tank vaccination rates, as she told @vermontgmg.bsky.social on the @longlead.com podcast LONG SHADOW: BREAKING THE INTERNET 🎧 longshadowpodcast.com/podcasts/bre...
When I drop my kids off at school each day and see their principals out front welcoming students, I often think about now-retired principal Frank DeAngelis and how he begins his days. I'm sharing his morning ritual today to honor those we lost 27 years ago at his school, Columbine High School.
Loved this great interview of @ibramxk.bsky.social by @kellyruthk.bsky.social, especially how the saying "journalism is the first draft of history," becomes more than words — it's put into practice here! Read and subscribe to DEPTH PERCEPTION (free! weekly!) here: depthperception.longlead.com
It's always wonderful to wake up, read a press release, and see your fledgling, tiny journalism studio flexing shoulder-to-shoulder with this competition: www.spd.org/spd-61-medal...
In WWII, when the US locked Japanese Americans away in camps, the country NEVER took away their citizenship. Today, the Supreme Court hears a consequential Birthright Citizenship case. Mia Yamamoto was born in a camp. She's exactly the kind of person this administration would strip of citizenship.
Thanks for all the likes and RTs, everyone, but seriously, vote. Internet virality is fleeting. Giant spring trophies are FOREVER. Vote here: bit.ly/LSS4Webby

Oh to be a Grammarly email marketer this morning, unaware of the world and living free from any and all worry.
The Ellison’s bid is $111B (perhaps minus a $7B fee if regulators block the sale, which ha, fat luck of that), but this Saudi backing should have everyone alarmed — in addition to antitrust concerns by combining WBD with Paramount (not to mention CBS with CNN). 👋 Hello States Attorneys General!👋
You in particular might like Ep. 2. There’s a politics story or two in there that may surprise you. One important one relates to, believe it or not, this guy: longshadowpodcast.com/podcasts/bre...
I just got a "top fan" badge on Facebook by continually pointing out that @gluesenkampperez.house.gov is perhaps the most useless member of Congress, repeatedly. "Congrats!"
As a Red Sox fan, it's impossible to read this Johnson quote and not remember the famous "more days in first place" quote by the team's GM Dan Duquette, after it imploded and ended up 13.5 games behind the Yankees to end the season. www.capecodtimes.com/story/sports...
However dominant the US government gets against its people, it’s a losing battle. We were raised on a curriculum of defiance, taught through events like the Boston Tea Party, the Montgomery bus boycott, and the Vietnam protests. We were raised to be dissidents. www.theatlantic.com/books/2026/0...
