I'm trying to decide on how to glaze these cups. I want to glaze the inside and leave the outside unglazed (it's a gorgeous clay!). But I can't decide if I should glaze the stamped part on the outisde or leave it unglazed too. Any thoughts? #ceramics
I love playing with texture on my ceramics but it's a time consuming process and makes this kind of work pricier. I always struggle with the tension between fun and affordability, especially in this broken capitalist system. (Photo of a work in progress)
Next one the list is the tuna/eel. What should I make after that? 😁
Went on a photo adventure with @rkdemay.bsky.social and it was heaps of fun! And also, got some photos I actually like. What do you think?
Lol this looks like a seal? I might have to start again! 😁 Yes I've organised almost all my things, and electrician is coming next week. Very exciting!
One of my pieces got accepted into the Quarry Ceramic Award Exhibition in Whangarei this April. I'm so happy I made it through the first round of judging! #ceramicist #nzmade #ceramics
These are some of my favourite pieces that I still have in stock. The wall hangers on the first photo were particularly fun to make, they were born from random doodles on a page! #ceramics
I have a stall at the Artisan Craft Market at the Wharewaka today. I'm here until 3pm :)
Saw some Jomon pottery at Kyoto Museum today. All of these things are about 4,000 years old, if not more! So cool!
Dear New Zealanders, are soft-boiled dippy eggs with soldiers a thing here? I'm thinking it could be fun to make egg holders, but not sure if it's worth it if no one eats eggs like this. Picture to illustrate what I mean #kikorangi #nz
All set up and ready for the day. Come say hi at the Wharewaka, between 10 and 3 today :) #Wellington #nz #Aotearoa
I saw this in my IG notifications and I'm absolutely flabbergasted! Anyone else has noticed this?
Our bearded dragon, Tobi, knows that spring is just around the corner! She is slowly waking up from her months long sleep, it's so good to see her cute face again 🧡 #beardeddragon #spring
I got my partner to take portraits of me for something coming out later this year, and I reckon he did pretty well! ☺️ Here is me, holding my favourite pieces, the Doodle Series
I'm updating my shop with a few new pieces today. Here are a few that are available. Thoughts? Anything we like?☺️ felt.co.nz/shop/judith_b #ceramics #kikorangi
I single fired these soap holders. I wasn't sure if it was going to work out, also because this was a clay I had never used before, but I'm fairly happy with the results. Any colour preference? #ceramics #Handmade #kikorangi
A giant chunk of cheese gives me so much joy! Can't take the Frenchness out of the French I guess 😅 Shout out to Le Marché Français for always having a great selection of cheeses! #Wellington #kikorangi
I love playing with textures on my pots! What everyday objects are fun texture makers? These are utensil holders I made. #ceramics
Went to Wellington Chocolate Factory last weekend. It was heaps of fun! Got to make 3 different bars with lots of toppings to choose from! Currently eating the coconut and ginger one I made! #Chocolate #Wellington #ceramics
Took a few photos of my large vases yesterday. I got help from my in-laws to cut a giant bit of plywood so I now have more space to set things up when I take photos. It works pretty well, I think!
Did lots of sanding today in preparation for glazing this weekend. Can't wait to see all the things fully finished and start a new making cycle! #ceramics #workinprogress
I love making things for plants and flowers. Anyone else here always trying to bring more nature inside? #ceramics ##pottersofbluesky #flowers
I posted on here recently about how many people had been asking for mugs, so I was going to make a series of them. They just came out of the first firing looking good, I'm looking forward to glazing them soon! #ceramics
