Retired teacher; I keep busy between gardening & my 2 rescue pups. I have 1 foot in very blue California and the other in very red Idaho. In Idaho I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.

#PinkWednesday #QuiltSky This is "English Cottage Garden" by Rachel Leeman-Munk. Rachel took an Interleaves Workshop in 2024 from mel Beach. This quilt was born at that workshop. She followed her own instincts and made strips out of patterned fabric instead of holding one solid.
Sophie on the left. Helen on the right. Can they be your pups of the week? We just found out that Helen's mass was cancer. They are both the sweetest girls.
The report is in. As expected: the growth is cancerous. Our Helen will be 14 in August, meaning that she's pretty old. I know I won't go forward with chemo and radiation. Tomorrow I'll be meeting with her well-doctor to learn more about what we can expect. It's unfair. Dogs should live longer.

#ColorfulMonday As Seen In Paducah This is another vibrant quilt from the Charles Cameron exhibit named "De Colores." He is a celebrated modern quilter from North Carolina. I'll attach his comments about the quilt since you might find them interesting. (This is one of my favorites.)

#SundayYellow #QuiltSky This is "Palm Fronds, Hosannah 1" by Cora Nimtz from New Orleans, LA. I'm not sure I understand the title. There is a palm leaf quilt pattern that does look similar. Anyway, her thread painting on the chair is exceptional.

#FridayPurple #QuiltSky This is "Suddenly With Petals, Blooming" by Karen McTavish from Duluth, Minnesota. Her free-motion machine quilting is lovely. This was a block-of-the month quilt that she changed a bit to incorporate her favorite flowers.
Helen Is Home. Status Report I bought baby food for her. But she's not interested in it. And she isn't drinking water yet. 😵💫 She is doing a bit of whimpering. And I'm not supposed to give her meds until tomorrow. We won't have any results on the mass for a week. 🤞
