Manatees live in salt water but can only drink fresh water so they have to visit fresh water sources frequently—it’s tempting but illegal to feed or hydrate them bc it disrupts their natural behaviors & schedules & endangers them by making them too comfortable around humans & boats.

I’m curious if most Americans understand the terrain of the Strait of Hormuz. An interesting bit is that it’s ~25 miles across at its narrowest but traffic is limited to a 2 x 100 mile channel. Which is tactically both a small & enormous commercial transit waterway to manage during a conflict.
