Got a heads up from a friend that their local theater pull-quoted me for Silent Hill, of all things. Fun way to kick off the morning!
Don’t just bring back intermissions. Bring back overtures. Bring back entr’actes.
When you're doing research for a review and stumble upon Kinki Region author Sesuji shouting out not just Noroi but The Inerasable as major influences
If you see this, reskeet with a sentai team that is not Power Rangers or Super Sentai.
Man should not be able to make espresso martinis within the comfort of their own home. Seems dangerous.
Pennies from Heaven is coming from Warner Archive in August. What a treat!
Somehow managed to hit 3.6K followers! It’s always a gift getting to chat about weird and wonderful movies with y’all every day. 😁
I really hope that if someone calls dibs to the 4K UHD of this somewhere besides the UK, that they get in touch with Asato and acquire this prize. In the meantime...
It also reveals what was trimmed from the last shot of the movie.
There's a really special bonus feature that hasn't made it to any edition of Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Cure in Western countries–it's the feature-length making of "CORE OF CURE" by director and Kurosawa protege Mari Asato. It's chock-full of amazing BTS footage that looks like it was shot yesterday.

More folks should count things like this as one film! From my own Top 300 list:
Top 25 of 2026 at the halfway point! Really enjoyed getting to finally catch up with Sheep Detectives and Tuner this weekend.

Of anyone to get out safely in this movie…I’m happy it’s Marika. On the blu-ray there's an extended ending with her and Miyajima wondering what happened to everyone, but I'm happy it's cut. The final pause for her finale is perfect. A frozen moment of getting out alive and OK. #folkhorrorfriday
