Ladies, it is TWO THIRTY IN THE AFTERNOON. Dinner will not be served now, no matter how long you two stare at me
You guys I think the reflecting pond bandit rolled into town last night during the storm
Stella & Blanche’s unbridled enthusiasm for the day is infectious
Don’t feel like celebrating the 4th? Come write about that then, and any other complicated feelings about our 250th, Sun, July 12, 2-4, Sandy Spring Museum! Last of my 4-part workshop series. ALL ARE WELCOME. Register here: ci.ovationtix.com/36765/produc...
I haven’t felt like celebrating July 4 this year at all, what with [gestures at EVERYTHING], but I caught yesterday’s Sail250 Air Show in Baltimore, and I gotta say, watching the Blue Angels soar over the rooftops made my sad little American heart hurt just a bit less.
My photo does not do these beautiful eyes justice. I never wanted to leave.
What an absolute JOY to gather tonight with a standing-room-only crowd at @politicsprose.bsky.social to celebrate the launch our amazing friend @cabockwrites.bsky.social’s new book #TheOtherBeautifulPeople! Congratulations, Caroline! So happy for you (& all us readers, who get to read it now)! 💕📘📘📘
Trying to sell a house got a lot harder, thx to T***p’s Iran quagmire, but today’s upside was that 3 hrs of yard work made our outside look so pretty, and then, hubby & I took our kitties and went to the Taco Bell drive thru for dinner during tonight’s showing. Not an offer, but still a good day.
I don’t know how I managed it with the chaos of my life over the last month, but I somehow logged 40 miles of running. Wondering if the chaos & my mileage are related…
Pick a Bond villain from the photos you already have on your phone (if you feel like it)
The Declaration of Independence at 250: Celebrate? Mourn? Rage? YES. Join me at Sandy Spring Museum, 05/17, 2-4 PM, for “Garden of Liberty,” a generative writing workshop inspired by the Declaration, its local impact, and more. Register here, discounts for members: ci.ovationtix.com/36765/produc...
Had a terrific day at @dcwriterscon.bsky.social 2026 today! Helpful panels, a fantastic keynote, chatting with friends old and new, a couple of agent pitches, and seeing Richard Peabody be honored for his lifelong commitment to the lit world. Life is good. 🤗
Just a reminder on this #IndependentBookstoreDay that even though Barnes & Noble is a non-Amazon bookseller, which is good, they still sent me this BS a couple of weeks ago, and you bet your ass I’m still salty af. SUPPORT INDIE BOOK SHOPS so we can keep buying books in places that aren’t evil 📚
This is what my cats do to let me know there’s a problem (in this case, a tiny spider) and since it’s #Caturday, now this is a thing you get to know, too
First-edition errors are no fun, I know. But errors are what made The Great Gatsby first-editions so coveted! From www.burnsiderarebooks.com/pages/books/...
When all of this [gestures at EVERYTHING] ends, we’ll need reprogramming for a lot of people so I’m suggesting now 24/7 radio/TV/online loop of Marlo Thomas’s Free To Be…You And Me. Lotta folks clearly missed it the first time around, and it’s still 100% necessary info. Unbelievable cast, too.
Just got home from my local #NoKings protest, and man, I actually teared up looking around at all who stood with me—a huge turnout of every kind of American you can imagine, all joyfully, peacefully united in lawful protest against this cruel, stupid, evil regime. Proud of my neighbors.
March 28 will be the biggest protest in US history. Find your local No Kings event to make it clear that America rejects the regime’s brutality at home and abroad. app.sosha.ai/s/B74N4JZz AND I’LL BE THERE.
