I’m mom to rescue kitty Gracie and beagle Daisy. Love animals, cooking, and flowers! All flowers are from our garden.
Tonight’s dinner. Bbq chicken, butter noodles and some homemade applesauce on the side. 😀
Tonight’s dinner. Homemade chili from the freezer and cornbread made from scratch. 😀
Tonight’s easy dinner. Homemade Parmesan crusted chicken, mac and cheese, and a tomato cucumber basil salad from our garden.
Tonight’s dinner. Chicken stirfry with lots of veggies and garlic. 😀
Tonight’s dinner. Shrimp and fresh herb pasta, with a tomato cucumber red onion basil salad. All the veggies and herbs are from our garden except the red onion and garlic. 😀
Our garden this morning. We have a buzzy buddy and our cherry tomatoes are coming along nicely. 😀
Tonight’s easy dinner. Bbq chicken and Mac and cheese. The end of a long week, so I made an easy comfort meal.
Tonight’s easy dinner. Chicken stirfry with all of the veggies left in the fridge. 😀
Pork bbq, tomato cucumber salad with red onion and basil (from our garden) and coleslaw. It was delicious!
Enjoy! I’ve got a pork butt in the crockpot for pulled pork. I’ll make coleslaw and a tomato cucumber salad using our garden cucs and tomatoes. It’s too hot to be outside or turn on the oven!
Garden flowers this morning. It’s so hot so we’re water twice a day and making sure the bird baths are full of clean cool water.
I just put a small pork butt in the crockpot for pulled pork. I put a bed of onions on the bottom and covered it with a can of Rotel (tomatoes and diced green chilies). I’ll make coleslaw later. 😀
I love that pan! That’s actually the lid. This is the bottom part which is huge and is great for making pot roast. And it was a giveaway years ago from a grocery store!
I worked from home today so I roasted a chicken early this morning. That way I’m not using the oven later in the day when it’s even hotter and I have nice roast chicken for sandwiches and salads.😀
Tonight’s dinner. I know it’s not really a summer food but I wanted some and I made cornbread muffins to go with it.😀
Blanket #1 of the next batch of shelter blankets. The good news is so many kitties are getting adopted I can’t crochet fast enough!
Our garden this morning. With the rain last week and the long days everything is growing very quickly.😀
This batch of kitty blankets is going to the shelter to@or tow along with 3 bags of kitten food and 2 cases of wet cat food. Every little bit helps the cats and kittens to be safe and well until they find their forever homes. 💖
Tonight’s dinner. Shrimp and fresh herb pasta with lemon and lots of garlic. 😀
Almost 2 gallons of blackberry juice. We’ll store it in the fridge tonight and make jelly tomorrow. I haven’t done the math but let’s just say we’ll have A LOT of jelly! 😀😀😀
We did strawberry about 6 weeks ago. From the same farm the blackberries come from.
Luckily I have a specialized food mill with a big hopper and it squashed them.
We haven’t made pickles yet this year but usually we make bread and butter pickles. I’ve never made dill. We have a ton of it tho…that’s what those 2 tall bush things are. We grow it for the butterflies. Black swallowtails lay their eggs on it.
This is what happens when I let my husband go to the “pick your own” farm by himself. That’s 18.9 lbs/8.6 kilos of blackberries. We’ll be mushing them for the juice and using that to make jelly. A lot of jelly.😳
