Incredible reporting. Instantly to the top of the true crime genre. I loved how Radden Keefe wrote with such compassion for the victim and, especially, his family. It also told such an interesting story about modern London. I am officially a big Patrick Radden Keefe fan. Wow.

I also have advice. Everybody loves reading advice on the computer, so I'll share it: the best thing you can do right now is log off as hard as you can. Go outside, talk to people in real life where it's actually kind of rude to talk about the news, try to actually see the friends you usually just text message. Go for a long drive and turn the phone off while you do it. Get back into your hobbies or pick one and learn it for a while. Watch one of those studio movies that reviews called "wildly miscalculated" and you haven't seen since high school. Play an album you like but find embarrassing. Go to free community events even if they sound stupid. If you take the freeway, try the surface streets. Go to a bad diner and just order some bad coffee because even bad coffee is good coffee.

You can't help anybody when you're exhausted and keep posting one million college-educated rewordings of "I would love to be dead right now" on the computer. Walk away from the thing and try out some of those normal things you hear about and if you get bored that's wonderful because we're not supposed to get bored anymore. It turns out boredom is the Cadillac of feelings.

Groypers regularly confront mainstream conservative organizations like Turning Point USA (TPUSA) for failing to promote a truly "America First" agenda and for not being adequately "pro white."

Many Groypers hold racist and antisemitic views.

Fuentes is careful to position the Groypers not as white supremacists but rather as "Christian conservatives" who oppose, among other things, immigration (undocumented and legal), globalism, gay and transgender rights and feminism.

Groypers charge that mainstream conservative organizations like TPUSA want to silence "dissidents" like Fuentes, who has been expelled from TPUSA events because of his extreme views.

I'm glad for the excuse to revisit this article from @cartoonshateher.bsky.social because it really inspired me to try something different this summer (I don't use screens but did act like the playmate/cruise director). It's actually been a huge success. My kids already seem much more resilient.

From the article by cartoons hate her: "But even as young children, it never occurred to us that our parents should have entertained us. They might offer us the option to bring a toy or a book to a restaurant, and it's not like they ignored us once we were there, but it just...wasn't their job to entertain us. It wasn't their job to entertain us at home either. The idea of being bored and that being our parents' fault didn't really occur to us.

That doesn't mean they never played with us. They played with us sometimes because it was fun, not because it was their duty to keep us occupied 100% of the time. Occasionally there might be a craft, or a day out to the park, but generally my childhood (which I consider a very happy and privileged one) was spent conjuring up things to do, on my own or with my brother. A lot of the time, these activities turned into morose play-pretend games about being a Victorian orphan, as I wrote about before. But this boredom helped me develop creativity, as I assume it did for other kids in my generation. Yes, I had movies and TV, but not all the time, and not in my pocket."

All of these Everton events have been great. Really good work from all involved! My only complaint is the Castore outfit. We're trying to promote our club, but we're doing it in an off color with a confusing branding badge most prominently displayed. Doesn't identify us to the American audience!
