I have a tendency to buy most fighting games that release just because anything can be fun with friends. Had a brief moment of thinking "Maybe I should just grab Tokon for shits and gigs" and was promptly reminded why I'd subconsciously wiped the game's release from my mind.
I've been using the same paladin affinity sword with Sacred Blade for literally twenty hours, just pumping stats into it to keep it with me because that move rips ass and has been hard carrying me through some fights. I felt genuine emotional payoff when I finally found an upgrade.
I would like to reiterate, if you use transmog in any game, you's a bitch and we can't be friends.
Some people are surprised the reprint for Delighted Halfling has a sort of ugly face. This is because those people are morons who don't remember what fantasy looked like before the LotR films. My personal favourite example of this phenomenon is Quirion Ranger. Look what they did to my little freak.
Even with 1,000 hours in Hunt: Showdown, the happiest moments are never found in the game itself, but in the aftermath of a job well done.
Forty minutes of Total Chaos Against Apathy and my elderly wrist began to burn like the seven Hells. This is the best I could do, but I shan't be bested. I will try again tomorrow. owie. orz
Been playing Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi lately and, whilst on the lookout for the next game to try afterward, I noticed Elminage Gothic is on sale for basically nothing. Was on the fence at first, but then saw this screenshot and determined I needed to play this. Nothing this rude can be boring.
Been playing a lotta OJ lately, so Suguri's cozy track jacket+skirt fit leaps to mind. Her big-ass zipper that I love to bits could maybe translate pretty well to a low poly artstyle.
Now that the dust has settled and I've watched the trailer a few times, I can make a calm, rational judgement. Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance looks like dogshit.
This floor fucking rules and anyone who didn't like it cannot be trusted in gaming discourse and should therefore be shunned.
Leo mains confirmed the most considered and calculating players, only taking action when necessary.
Buddy of mine who hasn't ever really played a fighting game expressed an interest in learning to play CotW, so I figured I'd take a peek at the "Smart Controls" layout and, good fucking lord, we're staying far away from that. Did anyone actually think this was easier than motion inputs?
I've lived to see a lot of "golden ages" of fighting games. But, hands down, the funniest snapshot of time was when Melee didn't get into EVO 2019 and all its players self-reported for, like, a month straight that they didn't play FGs when not a one of them recognised French Bread or Samsho.
Seen tonnes of these, but this is the first one that really spoke to me. I swear I play games that aren't made by SNK. I also realised I don't really play much kusoge. Though, if there's anyone who would like to argue against Samsho VSP, I welcome you to fight Kusaregedo and then get back to me.
Finally killed Kushala Daora. I may now continue making actual progress. This shit had me fuming on occasion, but tunnel-visioning on breaking its head in the first few minutes made the rest of the fight so much easier. Otherwise, its wind pressure is sometimes just a passive instakill. GGs, asshat.
It's taken me two real human days, but I've finally hit the actual "Slay Kushala Daora" hunt in Monster Hunter Dos. Gunlance has been very fun, but it feels woefully underdeveloped. To be expected, given this is its first appearance, but I'm definitely considering swapping off after this hunt.
Fucking... fighting games, man. This bitch is nutty. I can't wait to lose hours to trying to perfect weird timings like this.
This game is so fucking funny, man. Like, c'mon. This is what soul looks like.
This is the coolest mechanic in RPGs and if you disagree, you're a cop. Simple as.
The good games were great, the slightly less good games were still good, and even the bad games were fucking interesting. I'll never hear anyone talk about a 2026 critical disaster after the year 2026, but I'll still talk about 2004 goofs like Silent Hill 4 any day because they're fascinating.
Wasn't gonna do this one, but then I had a legitimately difficult time paring this down to nine games. Kinda fun.
Nightmare Geese is real fun. Doing manual Deadly Rave is gonna lose me so many games, but I can't help myself. It's just too cool.
