I finished these two books in the past week and absolutely adored them both, in very different ways. The Correspondent has inspired me to write more, and The Road to Tender Hearts was just a lot of fun despite also being dark and poignant. Highly recommend both! #booksky

We watched a red-tailed hawk go to town on a squirrel in our neighbor’s tree last year, it’s the most murder bird we’ve gotten so far

We’ve also finally had a downy woodpecker decide it’s interested in coming to hang out at the feeder on occasion lately. Where were you when we had woodpecker suet that y’all wouldn’t eat for so long it got moldy?! I mean fine you’re cute I won’t be too mad but c’mon

😂😂 still only seen Cooper hawks at the birds of prey show at the renaissance festival (RIP) but they’re so cool. Always love the cardinals, we have a bunch in our backyard that seem to really love our feeders. We’ve also had what I think are some juvenile males lately?! Excuse the picture quality 😅

It’s the 92nd minute of this Gotham v Spirit game at Citi Field and ESPN just tossed up a commercial split-screen ahead of a free kick???? This is ATROCIOUS and must be stopped swiftly. I fear what the World Cup ad breaks may do to broadcasting the sport. #NWSL

On our TV is NWSL on ESPN But a CarMax ad is taking up more than half the screen in the 92nd minute while the game is still happening

Also, I finally got my turn on the library hold list for Theo of Golden and deeply, fully adored it. I just found the story to be so wholesome and the writing so beautiful that it really surprises me that opinions on it are as divisive as they seem to be. Surely one of my 2026 faves. #booksky

Okay okay okay good news so far, inbound plane from SEA into ATL is finally in line to land after some serious figure 8 moves down south. Fingers firmly crossed that we have no more shenanigans getting outta here to trek up to Seattle now… 🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸

I don’t think I showed y’all my first calf tattoo when I had it done in May so now I can just share both after I had the other one done on Wednesday. Beyond thrilled with how beautiful these turned out and also am glad to have the calf tattoos out of the way bc ouchie 😅

The right calf is mostly a purple iris with a few spots of yellow, and negative space as part of the background.

I totally get this, and I find myself having a tough time figuring out my exact feelings on all of it. Example: if VAR exists in 2002 it’s entirely possible that the USA makes a WC semifinal! If you told me I could have that but have to suffer through all these razor-thin calls would I take it? IDK!

Feels weird seeing the Dutch play in this sort of sit back, concede possession, defend but see if you can hit on the counter manner. Also I really like the Momentum charts in the Futi app - great way to see if my eyes are deceiving me on how it feels like things are going.

For all the things I love about New York, being in/around Times Square is very much not on that list! About the only thing we’ll brave it for these days is a show, and Maybe Happy Ending (our 2nd time seeing it) is very much worth it.

I somehow totally missed that they changed the tiebreaker order for this World Cup and now I’m over here scratching my head trying to figure out how this will work if the US, Türkiye, and Australia all finish on 6pts… If I’m reading right, the first one would be a wash since all 3 have 3pts there

Eeeeeeek it’s done!! Or mostly, anyhow, there’s a chance she may need to do a little touch-up in a few weeks but I love it a ton.

This lil guy will be my bff for the next 48hrs so I’ve decided to call him Brad. I had another endoscopy today and this time had a wireless capsule attached to my esophagus to track pH levels. Sorta wild. I push the buttons when I have chest pain, food regurgitation, or heartburn which.. is a lot.

The screen has the time (incorrectly) and a pH reading, and below that are three symbols - one is a cartoon person holding their chest, one is a cartoon person that looks like it’s yelling (meant to be for regurgitating food), and one is a heart with a lightning bolt in the middle.
