This absolutely vile graffiti popped up on Ainsworth Drive. L’internationale fasciste is doing well and good with a French far right group invited to the Sandy Row bonfire, that @enddbelfast.bsky.social identified as being Les Normaux, the violent misogynistic offshoot of Generation Identitaire
Many asked “but why isn’t the police doing anything” around bonfires and displays of hatred: this is by the Craigyhill bonfire. Two police officers - and a third in the back - are taking a photo with Dee Murray, a leader of the south east Antrim UDA. And they look pretty happy.
Anyway that’s me off nae down south, will probably have to walk in the middle of a parade again to go home tomorrow. For now I have to recover. Slaínte abhaile!
“This is culture this isn’t hatred. This is an event for everyone” May I present to you the Tiger’s Bay bonfire, accusing the Prophet of doing what their dear leader Jeffrey Donaldson has just been convicted of (added commentary from my friend Roisin, a book publisher):
This instagrammer commented that those night skies were “epic”. I don’t know about you, but that’s not the adjective I would have used.
Yes the circumstances of Ann Widdecombe’s passing are horrific but this isn’t about it - police inquiries are ongoing - but this statement.
The Islamophobic bonfire was supposed to be lit tonight; the organisers made the decision to do so last night, and the police walked away after… being told to walk away.
Anyway I know this is the time of year when foreign journalists, and especially American ones, “do a Belfast” and Troubles most of the photos and the commentary. So, for all intents and purposes, watch things being set on fire in the following places thanks to Belfast City Council:
This was in response to the selection of Kai Stephens to run in the Clacton by-election, which is immensely concerning. @bricksilk.bsky.social’s recent review of Prevent, which I will link to in the following post, shows an increase in XRW referrals including Channel:
This is the Craigyhill bonfire just now and I refuse to explain. We are all worried about what will be pinned on it. God July is exhausting
This is Therese Patricia Okoumou, who 8 years ago on this day climbed the Statue of Liberty to protest ICE disappearances
Busy dealing with pogroms so took a look at what SCOTUS was doing, as a chaser, and it seems they decided to be busy destroying the very foundation of the republic as a treat before going into recess
Once again thank you to everyone around the world that donated to the Anaka fundraiser during the pogroms. Their statement is a wonderful testament of what we can all do www.instagram.com/p/DaA4D0SDUC...
Belfast is weathering too much today. For context, this is at least 10 degrees more than the average at this time of year. This is unprecedented.
