I'm still thinking about this. I think if I do it I want to use a different style of button up shirt as a base. Maybe like a raglan sleeve, and a little boxier? & then redraft the centre front situation?

I have this stupid photo saved to my desktop and it makes me laugh every time i remember it's there. it's from like 2015 when I was walking through the great canadian superstore. product design at its finest.

the new hank jacket from the sewing club looks cool as hell. i just really like the collar/cuff details. idk that it would fit in my wardrobe rn but I'm like.... thinking about it.

for once in my life i remembered to take photos.

Also the base pattern that I modified is a FREE pattern with a fairly inclusive size range. So like check out the blog post if that sounds cool and fun to you.

Idk that I ever posted this comic? Done alongside students a few years ago.

comic about a girl finding a pendant while thrift shopping and bemoaning the awkward of adolescence and feeling left out. the full moon emerges and the pendant she wears turns her into a werewolf.

i'm soooo close to being done this quilt. i finally got the last of the ~54 hand appliqué elements on last night. Once the hand quilting thread I ordered arrives I'll get the batting sandwiched, quilt it, and actually finish off this project!

Yeah! So the base pieced design was about 16" square, which is the size of the stretchers. So I measured how much of a border I would need to add to wrap around the back (ended up being about 3 inches). Finally, I quilted the fabric to some scrap batting (no backing) for more heft.

Oh dang. I can't believe both of these graphic novels have been out for a year! In retrospect it was pretty wild to have two books debut within 2 weeks of each other. I'm so proud of these & all the work I poured into them.

Hey did you know you can stretch quilt samples like you would a canvas???? This was a piecing test of several blocks for a larger quilt I'm working on. 5 oz denim + white cotton + quilted with white thread. Horse appliqué is probably vintage, definitely thrifted.

Highly recommend a visit to Powell River if you can swing it. Ppl are nice. I ate some really great food. The views are incredible. A hockey tournament had filled most of the hotels so the library booked me in an Inn with Character, which included a haunted piano that played music on the hour.

I got to spend all of last week up in Powell River (my first time visiting)!!! The library invited me up to run a comic camp for march break & I'm completely blown away by the cool mini comics all the kids made.

I'm taking a painting class & I finally feel like I'm getting to a point where I might want to share some of what I've been making. This week's assignment was "create a narrative."

I need to write a full blog post, but first I want validation because this pant + jacket combo that I sewed turned out really dang cool. The shirt is thrifted from a million years ago on a trip to Toronto to visit my bff.

i unironically love the cover design on the sookie stackhouse books. we gotta take supernatural romance cover design back to "what if everyone looked disgusting and modelled from plasticine"

Ok I'm like halfway through mocking up this jacket & my impression is that: it *is* a bit of a tricky pattern but it's turning out really cute. The drafting seems alright even if the instructions could be better. I'm documenting the full process on threadloop & will probably blog later.
