This photo is focused on the head of the prairie dog. On the middle of his nose is a bug (maybe a fly?). The prairie dog has shades of brown fur and black/brown eyes. His ears can barely be seen. They are small, flat against his head and the same color as his fur. The green background is the blurred vegetation around the tunnel hole.

The sky is a light blue with fluffy looking white clouds. The middle of the photo shows the line of trees around portions of the lake. The bottom and towards the front of the photo is the lake. It is slightly shade because of the nearby trees. There are branches sticking up out of the water. These are from trees that grew here long ago. The birds now enjoy the branches as perches. Unfortunately the bird were nowhere to be scene when I took this photo.

This bald eagle is probably about 3 1/2 years or older. He still has a lot of brown feathers on his head. Bald eagles with the feather all white on their head are over 5 years old. This bald eagle is in captivity due to an issue with his wings. #raptor #wildlife #birds #birdwatching #photography

The eagles head is most of the photo. There are brown feathers mixed in with the white feathers. His eyes appear to be light brown. He is sitting amongst the branches of a tree. The leaves are the green in the photo.

There is some of the wire fence showing lightly in the background of the photo. He was behind the fence, so I really had to play with the focus to get a clear photo.

Photo is filled with green clover - only three leaf clover. Not a fourth one in the bunch!
Morning sunshine highlights the green. There are subtle areas where some of the leaves are in the shade. These are growing in a flower pot on the porch. The stripe appearance is from the railing.

Nothing to see here - just a box turtle in a prairie dog tunnel.😃. Did you notice the red eyes? Box turtles are not turtles, but tortoises. Their name is very misleading. Learned this bit of information when visiting a wildlife conservation place. #tortoise 🐢 #nature #wildlife #photography

Photo was taken at Wildlife Safari Park in Ashland Nebraska. While driving through the park, the antlers were visible above the tall grass.

The antlers are in the middle of the photo, surrounded tall green grass. In the background is a shaded area with several trees. On hot days, the shaded area is where the elk will rest.

This photo was taken after going around a curve. We saw the antlers that were sticking out of the tall grasses in the previous photo. This time we were able to see the elk's head.

In the middle of the photo the elk's head can barely be seen in all the grass. His antlers on full display. He is surrounded by the tall grasses. The sky in the background is gray. This was an overcast day.

The prairie dog is standing on a rock above tunnels his family and him have built. He has his eyes closed. The background is blurred green grass. The prairie dog is light brown in color, which makes him blend in with his surroundings when he by one of the tunnels. I was glad he moved over by a patch of green, so I could get a decent picture of him.

Using a macro lens and looking down onto the bud, only the lines of the top of the bud are clear. The blurred green is from the rest of the plant. In the upper right of the photo there are touches of purple and yellow. These colors come from near-by flower pots.

Two hibiscus buds opening at the same pace/ time. This photo was taken early morning. Soft sunlight helped to draw out some of the colors. In the background of the photo are two vertical black stripes. These are from the railing on the deck.

Full blooms - multiple flowers. The lower flower is in focus whereas the other blooms towards the top are slightly out of focus. The middle of the flower is a deep red. The petals have colors of red, orange and a touch of yellow. The background is the deep green of the plant leaves.

Blue/gray background, bright deep pink color of the flowers. Focus is on the flower in the middle. The evening sunlight shone on this flower perfectly, placing the inside of the flower on stage.

The sunlit area makes me think of my dad and son, both have passed away. My dad passed away a few years ago and my son passed away a few months ago. The spirit world seems to be telling me, they are together and happy.

Old barn on my Aunt and Uncle's farm. The red paint is almost gone. A good portion of the wood needs repairs or replaced. The roof is a metal roof, so newer than the other parts of the barn.

Photo was taken in Summer a couple of years ago. Towards the bottom of the photo is green grass. on the right side of the photo is another, smaller building. This was used for storage.

The squirrel (we call in Frank) somehow has himself all scrunched into the oriole feeder. His head is in-between two orange halves and his nose is deep into the grape jelly. The feeder is hanging from a tree branch.

This photo was after Frank was enjoying the jelly. Here he knows he has been caught. He's trying the rabbit defense - stand perfectly still and maybe you won't be seen. Love our silly neighborhood squirrel -Frank.
