Began my walk with loving how the wind deposited snow in patterns as it blew, then redrew again and again. In comments is how it ended. Pup wasn’t impressed with the weather nor with us only walking 3.5 km instead of the 5-6 we normally walk in the AM.

I walk our pup morning and evening. Today I was chilled from sitting outside for hours. It was only minus 8 after supper but still snowing with wind. The dog kept laying his head on my lap, putting his paw on me. Sigh. He was right. It was beautiful out there.

This is the sort of attitude that hurts all Canadians. Is it lack of reading comprehension? Stupidity? Malice? Sone combination of the three? I wouldn’t claim that the province she comes from is the problem, or full of people like her. Thankfully she’s a minority. thoughtless attacks help the UCP.

They'll continue to condemn Albertans for voting in the UCP and treat us like dumb yokels (which so many seem to do), yet they have no clue how hard our very many progressive are fighting against a horrific govt, with potential country wide repercussions. Instead they work against us and preach.

Another warm day (3C!) perfect to do a #pleinair painting. I love willows and scruff brush and trails. The snow reveals so many stories we wouldn’t easily see otherwise. My dog loves it out there too. He perceives the trail much differently than I’m capable of. 8x10, oil on board

Canadian Brewhouse is NOT holding the event. Great news!

News is so awful. Hubby is building a giant polar bear and I went with a quick little dragon (his tail goes out to the road). If he lasts, I’ll paint him tomorrow. If not, it’s a reminder of impermanence- and that all the awful too will one day pass.

Splitting and hauling wood; the reward is a lovely fire in the relatively warm, minus 10 C weather. I love winter. Maybe not the freezing rain (at minus 15? What the heck) but the snow yes.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 14 This is BIG learning for hubby and I. So many plans for the hide once it is smoked and softened. We had to put this away as rawhide when winter hit and will finish in spring. If the winter wait hurts the final stages, we will use the rawhide for snowshoes and drums.
