We just had our annual sheep and wool show in Australia, and I was lucky this time to find some pure mohair locks for sale. So precious! #handspinning
Tourdefleece spinning is happening! I love this neon flecked fibre. #handspun
Colour me happy! 2 ply fractal spun yarn in Polwarth/silk blend. Handdyed by me. #handspun #knittingwithhandspun
It was dye day today- those colors make me sooo happy! #handdyedfiber #fiberprep
I have a kg of this enchanting fluff! I’m going to spin this over the TourDeFleece days. #handspinning
I need another kg of grey coloured handspun yarns to weave fabric to sew an ankle length coat. It’s slow going but 🤷🏻♀️there’s no rush. #handspinning #handspunyarn
I’m all set for the next 12 months! Here are Finn, Polwarth, Corriedale and Alpaca , and in the shed a Romney x Corriedale #handspun
Pulling roving straight off the drumcarder, saves a bit of time, and is surprisingly like combed top. I make sure the locks are all aligned. I’m still learning how to get the most from my new too! . . #drumcarding #corriedale #fiberprep #handspinning #handspinner
My last Corriedale fleece- 8 weeks before the next sheep show and my next purchases!#handspinning
2 kg of #handspun ombré and blended mid grey Corriedales. Another kg to go before I start my weaving project.
It’s autumn here in Australia, so have taken out my stored fibre. Long term project, probably going to weave this eventually. #drumcarder #handspinng
Need to spin 6 more skeins. This drum carded fibre is a blend of grey Corriedale, white E L and white Corrie x Border Leicester fleeces. It’s a sturdy yarn , 3 plied , to make a long lasting cabled sweater. Slow goals. #handspunyarn
The red is alpaca and blue is superwash merino. Carded 40/60 ratio on drumcarder and it produces this beautifully drapey maroon yarn #handspunyarn
Love those buttons too- thrift store bargain. This pattern is called the Pelica Vest and done entirely in garter stitch, and seamlessly. #showmeyourknits #knittingwithhandspun
Beautiful dusk light on an overcast day highlights the cool tones in this fibre. Hope I have enough for a cropped cardigan! #handspunyarn
Starting another spinning project with these black merino tops. Super easy to spin. #handspun #handspinning
I’m learning how to sew, and used my woollen handwoven panels made on my #rididheddle loom. Big learning curve, and am keen to make more clothes. #wearyourweaving #handsewn
I’m cool inside, playing with my drumcarder and scrappy yarn. Filled up all water bowls for the poor bees and birds
Here’re the original colours of the fibres before blending on my drumcarder. I love the resulting lavender coloured handspun yarn.
I love blending fibre in my drumcarder; look at that lovely lavender! I bought the pink and blue tops cheaply, at my local woollen mill, as discard fibre. It’s so handy to experiment with, lucky me! #handspinning #fibreprep
First project of 2026 is the chevron sweater from Noro pattern book, using some wildly coloured handspun yarn. #knittingwithhandspun #handspinning
I love wearing vests with my dresses. This is another Pelica Vest. #showmeyourknitting #slowfashion #handknit
I struggled with the pattern instructions for this Pelica Vest, and had to redo the shoulder bits a couple of times, but this seamless knit was worth it. Made with my 3ply handspun from 2 Corriedale sheep. #handspun
Garter stitch eats up the yardage, it’s going to be really warm accessory. #knitting #handspunyarn
Chonky skeins, this came to 355g and handspun in DK weight. No idea what to make with it yet, do it goes into storage. Made from handdyed fleece and commercial tops, and drumcarded also with wool left over from our local mills. It’s an upcycled mishmash! #handspunyarn
Prepping for a mermaid coloured spinning session. Mostly alpaca, some handdyed merino fleece, and really old fibre stash from Bendigo Woollen Mills #fibreprep #drumcarder.
I love how rustic this turned out. Warped with my handspun and found this natural coloured, thick n thin spun yarn in a thrift shop. So pleased!! #rigidheddle #handspun
Up next on the needles and I think my 3ply handspun will do nicely. #knittingwithhandspun handspinner
