6 books in to an 11 book fantasy series from my Audible membership and I find out the main antagonist has the same name as my cat, Hermes. I’m struggling to take the story seriously now, I can’t break the association between the name and being dumb as a sack of rocks. 😁
Hermes has come to complain about the heat, I think he’s trying to tell me that I’ve let it go on for far too long and that he’d like to speak to my manager.
I’m borrowing my daughter’s iPad and I keep seeing ads for this mobile game where you solve puzzles to save a king from a snake. I’m not tempted by this because I have a problem with the basic motivation; I could watch snakes eat kings all day long.
Bless! Yeah, it’s not like they’re doing it on purpose, is it? Hermes was always a very clean cat, he’s just a bit wobbly nowadays. I don’t mind washing the mat a bit more often.
My Hermes does the same, usually loudly berating me for (I assume) being gone so long when actually, my lap was required on several occasions.
My cat hates being photographed, but he’ll put up with it if there’s a treat involved.
It’s hot as hell in Pompey already, so sensible creatures have settled down for a protracted kip. I’ve put 2 loads of laundry out and done the washing up, so I feel I’ve earned the right to join him. Bliss! 😊
The end of a hard day of being petted and eating chicken. May we all sleep so peacefully tonight. #caturday
Hermes looking derpy, and being photobombed by my daughter; he hates having his picture taken so we have to wait till he’s asleep. 😁
He was cross because my daughter woke him up, now he’s fallen back to sleep mid-tailwag.
Since it’s Caturday, let me introduce you to Hermes (for the god, not the handbag). He’s a rescue who’s lived with us for 17 years, ruling the house and generally treating my daughter and me like inadequate butlers. His main talent is knowing his dinner time to the millisecond.
Had to change the duvet cover around Hermes’ stubbornness this morning; I’ll have to do the bottom sheet when he ambles off for dinner.
If this is a targeted ad I’d like to point out to whatever AI or algorithm that is responsible for this popping up in my mobile game that I am not, in fact, dead yet.
In that case it’s handy that I just happen to have 5642 pictures of my cat on my phone!
I’ve been sorting through winter coats to stash away and when I came back from making a cuppa I found this squatter. I don’t have the heart to move him!
Isn’t it wonderful? I had to take my old fella (18) for an ultrasound last week and I wasn’t expecting him to get the all clear, but he did. He’d been so sick, and it turned out he’d just been eating garbage again. 😁
I spent over £200 this month ferrying this cat about in taxis to and from the vet’s, only to be told yet again that there’s nothing wrong with him except a propensity for eating random garbage and regurgitating it onto household fabrics.
Poor old Hermes! He made such a nuisance of himself at the vet that they had to put him under to draw blood, so he had to go back 3 times then stay there all day. He’s come back with a shaved chest, a shaved leg, and a shaved tummy from the ultrasound. He looks a total wreck, bless him!
POV: Your human leaves you in a crate at the vet’s office all day with nothing to eat then expects you to be happy to see them.
Poor Hermes, coming back from the vet still tripping from the anaesthetic. 😢
My handsome, clever, faithful friend is having an ultrasound tomorrow, and at 17 he’s getting to be quite an old fella. Cat friends of BlueSky, please send him some good vibes - his name is Hermes, and he’s an excellent cat.
Nominally this is my bed, but I can never occupy it with such thoroughness as Hermes.
The cash point paid out in fivers, which I don’t usually see any more, and it’s given me the opportunity to reflect on a recent controversy. It turns out that yes, I would rather look at a badger than this miserable, evil old bastard.
Hermes hasn't been well and the vet has advised a diet of white fish and rice until his appt on Monday; I'm dreading the moment I have to put this down in front of him. Like most cats he hates change, and for the last six weeks or so he's been getting tuna or chicken, his favourites, at every meal.
