Little treats I bought myself today, to celebrate voluntarily going outside. I didn't know this notebook existed, but I absolutely love it and for once in my live will start using it straight away, instead of saving it for a hypothetical future 'best'. 👩‍🚀

Bought this yesterday, finished it today (which is always satisfying) and recommend it to you, if you enjoy pacey, page-turning historical fiction. Uhtred, son of Uhtred, is fictional, but the fight between the English (of various kinds), the Danes and their gods very much isn't.

Had a very nice afternoon at the lido with a friend and her family. Which is both good prep for a Monday in the office and doing an external event, and also makes that Monday hurt a tiny bit more.

Scottish edition of the Mail manages to covers last night's attack on Muslims in Edinburgh. The main edition goes with a statement from Kemi Badenoch; the Tories are so marginal and she's so clueless, I'm not sure anything she says is news, short of a resignation statement.

The Scottish Mail on Sunday front page. Main headline is "Terror probe as five hurt in race hate axe horror" and the sub head says "Swinney's 'deep concern' over bloody atrocity on city streets after armed man targets Muslims in rampage".

My vague attempt at a healthy dinner - or at least one that contains vegetables. Now to eat some cake...

Sometimes, Too Good To Go bags are a mild disappointment. But sometimes, you get this magnificent beast of a loaf, and (deep breath) two pain au raisin, two little pistachio cakes with rose icing, two blackcurrant pastries, one maple pecan bun, one cinnamon crown and a savoury scone!

An absolute queen among loaves; a sort of squared oval shape, floured surface with a deep split cut in the crust to show golden brown below.

Morning Fox has brought a friend (or sibling, or partner - it's their business and I'm not asking personal questions).

After all the rain we've had, the grass outside my building is finally looking fairly healthy again. So my neighbour is out there now, mowing it down to about 2cm so that hot weather has a better chance of killing it. Does the Council mow it regularly? Yes. Did anyone ask him to do this? No.
