We here @uniwinchester.bsky.social Clearing paused to do the important work of rescuing this bee. Head of Recruitment has a bee revival kit. It hid under the keyboard of the Head of the Business School, and a senior admin and I took it outside where it flew away. Clearing lines are open as usual.
To all my academic folks working the Clearing lines this morning. I see you.
Morning in tbe garden with this barnstorming, trailblazing book by Elisabeth van Houts. Run, don't walk, etc. @yalepress.bsky.social @yalebooks.bsky.social

Very cool heritage markers in Ghent, here with the excavation plans of the medieval buildings in Goudenleeuwplein. Another marker was nearby with further explanation. Feet for scale.
Morrie would like to kindly remind you to take a nap before you go burn it all down. Health first.
Has anyone else read Down the Common? I read it assigned as an undergrad and it was a fabulous way to introduce history from below. Am I alone?
She poisoned enough people (if you believe Orderic) but frankly, I also kind of think that OV would appreciate Britney Spears on a number of levels
'Hey Niall! We're in this!' I'm yelling out the door to my friend and colleague at Courtyard Books in Gloucester @helleborezine.bsky.social. Shout out also to @kjsoar.bsky.social who is also heavily represented here!
Shout-out to the not-on-BS Dr Mark Hagger. I'm writing about Norman captivity practices in the long eleventh century, and his Norman Rule in Normandy book @boydellandbrewer.bsky.social has been an absolute bible to me.
A friend of mine noticed this well-placed reminder (h/t @drdragases.bsky.social):
Him: what are you thinking about? Me: the Mongolian Winter Olympics uniform
Had such fun today up in that London doing some filming for a thing, pink glasses and big hair and all. The bigger the hair, the closer to the top of the motte, as my people definitely don't say.
Oh wow, EXCELLENT use of my favourite Wolf Parade song in E5 of #heatedrivalry. THAT is a perfect moment. I'm going to replay those five minutes over and over when I need a light.
I just woke up from jet-lagged fuelled dreams and I am not ready to face whatever comes now, so here is a picture of my sister's cat for a timeline cleanse.
