Vertically integrated, anticompetitive PBMs that extract money from our healthcare system and raise our 💊prices are a problem…they need some accountability! Grateful for the focus and expertise of Governor @abigailspanberger.com and the bipartisan support of PBM reform this year and last.

Talking through some legislation I, and others, have worked on. This one, HB 2426 (2025) is a step to get more clean energy into Virginia. For those who want to nerd out, the MOU to streamline permitting for small scale renewable projects was just signed : www.williamsmullen.com/insights/new...
First Pop-up Popsicle event was a success. Stay tuned for more to come! 🧊🍧🍦
What happened at ACPS is tragic and terrible. We are all in this together and need to do everything we can to protect children better in the future. An independent investigation is the next step. We need clarity so we can work to fix what is broken.
Thank you to everyone who showed up to support our work. It was a great night. We also collected lots of soccer balls for donation to the IRC. It is a joy and privilege to represent Charlottesville. ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
I have an office, but it’s more fun to meet people where they are! Tomorrow I’m kicking off a summer Pop-up Popsicle 🧊series! First stop is the Tonsler League 🏀 Thurs. at 7:00. Stop by for a free popsicle, to say hi 👋🏽, &/or to chat about the issues that matter to you!
And we will be collecting new soccer balls to donate to the IRC!! Bring one for a drink ticket!

Another successful, all slots filled, office hours + several meetings with local leaders. Thank you to everyone who came in!
Happy 4th of July!!! 🎆🎇🎆We started the day early by watching the naturalization of 74 new US citizens on the steps of Monticello. I'm glad we could share in their joy and remember what our country can gain from those who come seeking a home. 🇺🇸 Lots more events today - hope you have fun planned!
Happy Birthday to the Downtown Mall 🎂🎂🎂. A visionary mall that has withstood the test of time and become a national model for pedestrian centric community planning. @creighdeeds.bsky.social and I honored the 50th anniversary with resolutions! @jenfleisher.bsky.social @nat4cville.bsky.social
It was a pleasure to recognize the work of Ridge Schuyler as he “retires” from PVCC (he is actually moving on to spread the philosophy of Network2work to more folks). Thank you Ridge for helping so many people find careers that can sustain their dreams - a path you’ve followed yourself!
Extreme Heat Watches and Warnings expected through the weekend. ☀️☀️☀️There are cooling stations and resources available. Check on those you think might be vulnerable. And drink water! 🌊
With the passage of my HB301 adult adoptees can finally access their orginal birth certificate starting today! We all deserve to have our own records. To apply online and receive your certificate in the mail, visit: www.vdh.virginia.gov/vital-record...
Tomorrow we rejoin RGGI. 🌎⚡️A move that will unlock millions in savings for consumers as the state invests in energy efficiency and flood resiliency. I ran into Donna and she had her original sign from when we joined RGGI. Hopefully she doesn’t need it again - affordable energy shouldn’t be political
This Spring I met with a majority of each elected body in the county and the city. They all gave their time to explain issues and advocate for our communities needs. Local government work is hard and I appreciate them stopping by!
Heading back to Richmond on Monday for final budget actions…. some major projects in Cville/Albemarle are getting ❤️ this budget cycle. They are investments in our community that will have a lasting impact for years to come. @creighdeeds.bsky.social
We are voting on 3 constitutional amendments this November! 🤰🏻🗳️💍. Make sure you vote!
My HB281 is just one piece of the puzzle. It allows tenants to raise a defense of uninhabitable conditions without having to pay all past due rent first. Seems right to me that someone shouldn’t have to pay to state facts in court! Here is a deeper dive: www.venable.com/insights/pub...
This is a pretty deep dive into the realities faced in low income housing in VA & the hurdles tenants must overcome even when they are trying to legally climb out. Also shout out to @nathanalderman.com for the investigative journalism and dedication. c-ville.com/tenants-repo...
Also quick note that this project, nestled behind UVA health was made possible thanks to our recent zoning changes.
Excited to celebrate the kick off of new Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville homes in Fifeville with @creighdeeds.bsky.social and Councilors @nat4cville.bsky.social and Payne. Lots of smiles and sunshine. Find out more about their Cville projects at Cvillehabitat.org.
Happy to support @tomperriello.bsky.social at his Cville office launch. He is the ethical leadership and voice we need in DC. Find out ways you can volunteer at www.tomperriello.com/volunteer
So enjoyed participating in the CounselHer Circle in Virginia Beach during the Bar conference. Such a wonderful group of talented attorneys. I hope I recruited many of them to apply and seek out commissions and board appointments with the state - we need their energy and expertise!
Actually spent the day holding office hours and focusing on things close to home. 10 people booked time with me and it was a joy to have so many conversation over such a wide range of topics.
Forget the noisy leaf blowers (HB881, failed)….time to ban early morning hot air balloons. 🎧🎈 (j/k I ❤️ them)
