In our commune we have a mini refuse disposal site. Went yesterday Todo recycling and saw huge pile of bags next to the non-recyclable bin. Initially assumed that bin was full, but no. Someone was too lazy/stupid to actually bin the stuff. Don't do this please.

This is a map of current wildfires in France and surrounding areas. Each icon is a heat source, those in a darker shade of orange are the most intense.

To say climate change hasn't affected France is nonsense, the land is dry and parched thanks to early heatwaves in June and fires are either accidental or set. If you're failing to see a connection why this year is bad then there is no hope.

But it's not just the little people (us) who need to be careful, we need to see the rich and powerful model responsible behaviours. But we won't see that when "oh my there's another planet I can conquer or a data centre that can be built to collect every one's data."

Anyways the number of wild fires is unprecedented and quipping about Mediterranean summers in Clacton is extremely poor taste.

Good idea. Do you have a specific brand you recommend? I'm at my wits end with a poorly designed conservatory. Freezing in winter and you ready for this pic from two days ago in France? It needs remedial work not an air conditioner!

About 10am Limoges, France. Canicule 🔥 🔥 🔥 Inside house all three thermometers are showing in excess of 30 degrees Celsius. Outside is due to be in excess of 40 degrees Celsius. Once in a lifetime becomes once every decade becomes once every 5 years becomes the norm.

Air temp outside between window at volet. Just under 30 degrees Celsius

Heating controls show 31 degrees Celsius

No, the heating is NOT switched on!

Dear camera, I know that you want to alert me to a person in my garden, but, it's my laundry flapping about. I got caught out earlier this week with what looked like a cat writhing about caught in the fence netting. That turned out to be the extremely crumpled foil from someone's roast dinner...

There is what looks to be a grey and white object moving about under the tree trunk. If you look it's between the second and third peg and looks like it's a creature.

I was watching the object moving about in a writhing motion so it looked like a creature caught in the wire net supporting the privet hedge.

I couldn't do anything as I was in France so asked neighbours and friend to check. Neither saw what I was seeing.

When we arrived back on Wednesday night, I waddled out expecting the worst and found it was someone's discarded Sunday roast foil.

This looks like nothing but it could have been bad. We'd been using the wood burner so initially thought my husband had started it up again. When I went into the bedroom, saw the plume going up, I was prepared to sling the bag out of the window. I just want others to be careful.

It looks insignificant, but this is a small hole burnt into a thick leather bag by sun shining on a magnifying mirror. I came into the room after smelling burning. The bag was sitting on the bed. The leather is contracted and the hole charred.

This is Jeffrey. The image is of a chilled out tuxedo, wearing a large pink "feather boa" made of shredded tissue paper. This is from a few years ago as he's not our cat. My relationship with him has been love hate, in that he'd appear every day and as I opened the curtains he would be sitting there staring at me. If I opened the door, he'd be inside like a flash. He would eat everything from french fries to soup. He also used my newly printed manuscript of my M Ed as a makeshift litter tray. I made the mistake of picking him up midstream and watered the sofa. So yeah, that's Jeffrey.
