I really do mean it when I say they improve even the smallest scenes, they manage to give the Scout Trooper that smacked Han and the other Scout Trooper that shot down Leia's speeder some aura Gotta respect it

Fun fact, in the manga adaptations, Lightsabers don't cauterize wounds so this shit must've sucked for Luke 😭😭

Star Wars Manga: Return of the Jedi, Vol 1-4 (1999) This one's got a much grittier artstyle than the last two and it oddly really works? Like the last two, the panelling is fucking AMAZING. Even the smallest of scenes are improved from the film on a visual level. Everything's much tenser, I love it

Star Wars Manga: The Empire Strikes Back, Vol 1-4 (1998) A lot of the same strengths from ANH's manga are present here. I think my favourite part of this manga adaptation is how they handle Vader's revelation. The presentation sets it apart from the OG while carrying the same impact and tone

Star Wars Manga: A New Hope, Vol 1-4 (1997) This was a FAR more enjoyable read than I expected. The art is insanely beautiful to look at, Kenobi vs Vader is a HUGE step up here over the OG, and the exaggerated expressions end up really fitting the humour of the film surprisingly. Great stuff

I just read the manga adaptations of the original trilogy as well as The Phantom Menace earlier. I'm legitimately astounded at how fucking raw they were, I gotta post more about them
