Judith Slaying Holofernes is a painting by the Italian early Baroque artist Artemisia Gentileschi, completed in 1612–13 and now at the Uffizi Gallery, Florence, Italy. The artist used herself as the model for Judith and the painting depicts the brutality of the murder by depicting it mid-action, with blood spraying and dramatic lighting.

I know for everyone else on the planet this looks like a heatwave but do you know how unusual it is that it’s going to be June and we haven’t had a day above the low 90s here in south Texas? This time last year we’d already had a couple of 100+ days.
