Game Dev from Canada working on a chicken game:
friend: "what are you listening to lately?" me: "oh have you heard of
holy smokes I did some truly horrible math code to get this to work but it was all worth it for this. #gamedev #indiegames
Trying to decide if "disemvoweled" is too horrible of an idea as a snag.
Drew this for a prompt I got while recording shorts for mirror mode and thought it was fun. #indiegames #gamedev
@crystaldreams.bsky.social tried out Chicken Scratch and made a playthrough video of it! Some really fun drawings. This one of a sad pineapple while the screen is spinning was my favourite. Definitely worth checking out (: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwdX...
You've heard of nine doors, nine persons, nine hours now how about
Another cursed animatic from playtesting footage. I don't know if it's wise to keep doing these, but was still kind of fun. :V #indiegames #gamedev
okay I'm being greedy by asking a second question here sorry :( behold: TRANSITIONS HELL This is the inverse problem. At the beginning of the game, there are a bunch of transitions that happen. Some of them feel important for explaining some context. But it is kind of a lot.
Gamedevs of bluesky I am activating the UX signal. I'm looking for some help with a pair of problems that I'm struggling with. The first is the WHEEL ARRIVAL - footage shown below. The players start the clip watching a guess play out then all of a sudden WHEEL. It feels a bit abrupt. #gamedev
Instead of making my game I'm just drawing the birds making cursed faces. 😵💫
#PitchYaGame Bird employees, assemble. 🦆🐦🦚🦉🦜🐦⬛🦩🐓 You have but one job: Draw well with unreasonable time constraints. Some of you may get fired, but that is a risk that I am willing to take.
Working on this silly thing for when you lose the game. #gamedev #indiegames
Remote control fast forwards which halves the amount of time that players have for tasks.
Blender makes it so that letters get scrambled for guess words.
This month I added challenges to the game which are big mundane objects that add some kind of difficulty that significantly affects things for players. Most dramatic of which is the red light green light challenge. #gamedev #indiegames
hey YOU. YES YOU. 🫵 DO YOU LIKE DRAWING? DO YOU HAVE FRIEND? watch this video about a drawing game I'm working on that you should check out and wishlist and eventually play and thank you. #gamedev #indiegames
Option 3: The round stays in the corner. I like that everything has a place in this one, but it does feel kind of weird that the round info starts in the corner?
Option 2: The boss shoves the title card into the corner. I'm feeling kind of iffy about the motion for this one.
Option 1: Round box stays in the center, boss shows up on top of it. I don't like how the dialogue obscures the text in this one, but maybe there's some tweaks I could make to make it work?
