As cynical as I feel about UB, The City on the Edge of Forever is my dad's favorite Star Trek episode and this is the first time my dad has ever been even remotely interested in MTG.
Less than 24 hours left on my Zombify 3D Alter auction! ebay.io/m/Axrb1P
I don't need this fucker screaming "FOOD" in my face even more than she already does, and I doubt her being able to understand me would change that dynamic much
I went to my local SWU prerelease for Ashes of the Empire today and opened pretty hot!! I got a ton of cards I was looking for, including this GORGEOUS prestige Darth Vader. This might be my new favorite card if I can manage to break away from the death grip The Stranger has on me. #SWUnlimited
Was feeling the ✨vibe✨ so I made sopes from scratch today. They're absolutely perfect I love these so much Naturally vegetarian & gluten free too, as a bonus
This was a really fun piece to work on, and the art was perfectly suited to shadowbox work.
My daughter opened this card out of a random booster pack a few years ago and I check on its price every year or so. I think it's the most valuable TCG card either of us owns lol
Btw, just in case any of my fellow Dungeon Crawler Carl fans don't know what a xistera is, it's basically this
Multicolored had a few swaps, but the biggest change was REMOVING CHROMANTICORE 😭😭 Five color strategies aren't exactly easy in this cube and I didn't want the 5c card to be dead in 99% of drafts, so I changed it to Maelstrom Archangel so it can be cheated out by Kaalia sometimes.
Colorless removed Emrakul the Aeons Torn and added Coercive Portal. I'll be honest, I LOVED the idea of Emrakul in the cube. But realistically, I don't think this is the environment for her. Coercive Portal is such a cool card though. Great in 1v1, really fun in multiplayer, perfect in this cube.
Green was the least impactful update by far. Interestingly, I had a lot of questions about why Birds of Paradise wasn't in the list, and while I know it's iconic, it feels more iconic to the old school era. So I've specifically excluded it and added in Sylvan Caryatid as its era-appropriate version.
Red was a massive boost in removal quality and a huge reduction in the number of creatures. I wanted to avoid giving mono red burn too much gas (they have the best card in the cube already), so I added a lot of X spells. I also boosted the Goblins deck with a few more pieces (love you Piledriver 😘)
Black was updated a bunch of times, first to improve the removal, then to change around a bunch of the creatures. But the most important change was that I added another card that I have enormous nostalgia for. I don't care if he's mid and kinda repetitive. I need Toshi playable somewhere in my life.
Blue was almost entirely updated to reduce creature count and bolster spellslinger/interaction strategies. Lots more counter spells were added, a bunch of creatures were cut, and a classic was added that should've been there from the start:
Hi! I'm Keith, and my primary art style is in Paper Tole, more commonly called shadowbox art! Most of my work is in sculpting Magic the Gathering cards, but I've been known to do regular greeting cards as well!
I haven't even prepped any of this properly yet and it's already looking so cool
Despite lacking Little Guy status, I do have a tendency to be adorable
Touching some serious grass this weekend, so I'll be offline for the next few days Don't do anything while I'm gone, k?
Find yourself someone who looks at you like this bat looks at Mr. Foxglove
Huge thanks to @ornithologistgames.bsky.social for sending me a Roku jumpstart pack!! He'll hang out in my Queen Marchesa deck for now (muahaha, more combat chaos!) until I'm done cube assembling and I can consider making a whole new deck for him. I'm so excited!!
Kingfisher(?) spotted at my local park while dropping off my daughter for summer camp
Hanging out at the Pride Parade, sure hope a cute boy doesn't DM me while I'm out~
