Congratulations, once again, to Zak R who, on Saturday, won the English Schools' Junior 1500m in a time of 4:07 for Warwickshire at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. This really is an outstanding achievement, well done Zak!
A thrilling climax to the cricket season, with the U15As winning their Cup Final with Luke J hitting a 6 off the penultimate ball to seal victory, chasing down a tough 177 in 20 overs. PoM was Shashank P, with 3 wickets and a half century. Well done boys, thoroughly deserved!
Well done to our U12 cricketers who finished county runners up to a strong KES Aston side this afternoon. We posted 90 all out largely thanks to a superb 59 from skipper Archie but it proved not enough despite some strong bowling from Hersh & Ronav. Despite the disappointment a brilliant season.
More success for Starry S in Yr 12 when he represented England in the Senior Schools Table Tennis International in Cardiff and won silver in the U19 individual event - outstanding achievement!
A fantastic two days at the Terry Patchett T20 with 4 wins and 2 losses for our 1st XI who finished 3rd overall. Well done to James who finished 3rd in the bowling competition and Rayyan who was also 3rd in the batting. Great team spirit shown by all throughout. Thanks to Bablake for hosting.
Great win for the 1st XI thanks to an awesome bowling display from Shreyan, James, Mo, Jiteesh and Areon. A well-timed chase led by Adam finishing 41* sees us start day two with a positive result.
Seniors have qualified for the cup having won all three matches yesterday and will play Warwick, Princethorpe and John Hampden in a round Robin today. Sun is out and the team is prepped. We are in the field vs PC first up.
Join us for an end of year celebration of sport at the Director of Sport BBQ this coming Friday. Enjoy the 1st XI Cricketers playing an Old Edwardians XI, food, drink, music and a summary of the year's successes. Tickets: www.ticketsource.com/kes @oldedwardians.bsky.social @sportkes.bsky.social
2 in 2. A thrilling win against Australian touring team Geelong College largely thanks to Loukas' 49 and a one-handed wonder catch from Seth. Next up John Hampton from High Wycombe.
Our 1st XI cricketers are taking part in the annual Terry Patchet T20 at Bablake today and tomorrow. First up we played the hosts posting 139 and in reply bowled them out for 75 with Laura taking a 3-for in an impressive spell.
2 in 2! Well done to the U12 cricketers who matched the 15s and won their county cup semi final vs KHVIII. The visitors were restricted to 73-6 with Vivaan and Archie each taking a brace of wickets before Henry (23*) saw us home inside 9 overs to win by 8 wickets.
Congratulations to the U15A Cricket team who, after the disappointment of a loss in the Knight-Stokes Cup last week, have beaten KES Aston by 5 wickets in the Semi-Finals of the County Cup. Well done boys!
The Tempest U14 & U17 teams are enjoying the Nationals in Birmingham today. We had a win for the U17s and a loss for the U14s in their first games.
Fantastic to hear that Bram B, in Year 10, has been competing for Solihull Barons U19 Ice Hockey team this season, helping them to reach the National Final against Solent Junior Devils. Bram's team dominated the match with a 6-1 win to become National Champions! Well done Bram and team mates!
Well done to the Yr 9 Super 6s athletics team of Zak R, Zach AJ, Kiseob S, Harry C, Julius T and Aezel V who today won the South Warwickshire Super 6s. It's the Year 8s turn tomorrow and Year 7s next Monday.
The final Yr 7 & 8 @sggs-life.bsky.social and @kes-stratford.bsky.social disco of the year is well underway with almost 200 students in attendance. The boys letting off a bit of steam after a week of exams.
Great performance from the boys, particularly Loukas A & Mo S, to bat out more than 40 overs against some quality bowling, earning an honourable draw against the MCC. Other notable mentions go to Areon J, taking 2 wickets on debut, & Felix K who won the Spirit of Cricket award for his wk & batting
The 1st XI were competing well against the MCC today, restricting them to 239, before making a good start, but a triple wicket maiden has made the chase a lot more difficult, now at 31 for 4. The rain is just about holding off but perhaps it might do us a favour!
Heartbreak for the U12A cricketers who's three game winning streak was ended with a thrilling final ball loss to Princethorpe this afternoon. However, you learn more after a narrow defeat. Well played all especially PoM Vihaan with two wickets and a superb run out!
A double away win for the C & D hardball pairs teams against Princethorpe today. Really well played to everyone but PoMs go to: C team - Rayan N D team - Nicholas S O
More impressive results for Year 8, Gregory L, as he now competes in the U14 Cross Country Mountain Biking (XC MTB) National Series during the Summer months. On Sunday, he claimed a podium place by finishing an outstanding 3rd in Round 3 having made his way up the field after starting in 21st in R1!
Well done to the U14A cricket team who beat Princethorpe by 93 runs this afternoon. Special mention to PoM Lksh who's figures of 4-10 off his 4 overs included a hat-trick!
It's been full throttle for athletics with a small squad competing at the South Warks trials yesterday, while Yr 7-10 delivered some superb individual performances in the Track & Field Cup today. Results can be found here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
A brilliant finish to a brilliant day. The boys overcame the team who beat them in the Sibford 7s Final, Swanbourne House School, by winning 20-10 in the bowl final. Outstanding effort by the whole squad but players of the tournament were Dean T-M and Ethan M. Well done boys!
The U13 rugby 7s team are enjoying their day out at Northampton Saints 7s Tournament, looking forward to playing in the Bowl Final on the Franklin Gardens pitch!
What a wonderful day to celebrate the official re-opening of Manor Road Sports Ground yesterday with hundreds of people enjoying a great game of hockey, food, drink, music, the opening of 3 facilities and the unveiling of over 20 items of international clothing donated by Old Edwardians!
