Democratic Texan through and through. Long-suffering Mets fan. Yes, one can be both.
Apparently asking BlueSky Fanatic to credit the creator - Michael de Adder (@deadder.bsky.social) - is grounds to be blocked.
Unfortunately, Pop had a major stroke and would probably not be viewed as electable. A lot of us thought they would be great.
Painting the entire state with very broad strokes… I’ve lived here my whole life, and yes, the last 15 years or so have been grotesque, but please note that most of the major metro areas, including three of the top 10 US cities, are blue.
I really get that. I was a single mom raising two kids on a public teacher’s salary with only $300 in child support. I had to do without a lot of subscriptions, which was really hard to explain why we couldn’t have all the media. Our go-to resource was the library.

Not just any gorgeous woman - former Miss New York and thisclose to being Miss America.
She was a lawyer for Goldman Sachs, not Epstein. Also, she knew he was a creep and continued to have a friendly relationship with- called him “Uncle Jeffrey”.

“People don’t do this without encouragement from people in power.” You don’t say…
Hmmm Hexavalent Chromium in the water - seems I remember a whole movie that focused on that particular issue.
For those who are unaware, this law firm - Arnold and Porter - were the ones who argued Gideon before Supreme Court. That’s the second part of the rights read to those being questioned. “Miranda” is right to remain silent; “Gideon” is right to an attorney.
In Guadalupe County, not one single Dem or Independent registered to run in the primary for three contests. We have been convinced we have no chance.
I can see why this would be an easy call, but Doggett has been very effective in getting bills passed (or at least bringing attention to issues). Plus he is a ranking member on multiple committees. He is well respected and can sway others to take a stand.
And all-female ‘80s hair band! Though is it a “hair band” when they’re not actually borrowing the look?
Aldous Huxley warned of this in his dystopian novel Brave New World. The “civilized” society is conditioned to believe that “ending is better than mending” because society must depend on consumption. Also this:
