I do programming, and languages, but I’m a bit of a sponge for random knowledge, so I know a little bit about a lot more than just those two things.
LLM and other genAI neural networks are direct acyclic graphs. Human brains are not. Beyond this simple example, there are a number of prominent AI-skeptic cognitive scientists out there that can explain for instance now AGI is intractable from the AI we have now.
Only in the sense of, if I were to throw a baseball into a crowd of people, then I would be responsible for any harm I caused. But a person prompting an LLM is _not_ the author of that work. It's devoid of copyright, because only natural persons can be authors. The same as this monkey’s selfie.
“I was just thinking, Grant. Have you looked at our tattoo lately?” He didn't know? It was right there in the thumbnail, and the central joke! “They've got skulls on them.”
History will decide who won this war. History, the next day: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Ir...
Literally, just like a minute or so of Google Maps, and I found Limanakia Beach:
#ProjectHailMary Spanish “tornado” is a borrowing from English. 😐 The first tornado (disaster) recorded in human history was in Italy. Ancient Greek had “λαῖλαψ“ to describe a whirlwind, and “syphon” as well, which they still use today.
If you see this I implore you to quote skeet with an unusual image from your posting device without explanation. Still definitely use alt text, though.
I'm behind y'all, I'm holding this all up, don't force me to use AI any more than I am. For the love of all that is just, it's already hard enough juggling a dozen chainsaws.
The original PR changed absolutely no behaviors, and misunderstood the memory model… … the response to my comments started with “you're absolutely right —”
To be fair, I really wasn't using the room, I spent nearly all of my time on my computer or in my bed in my bedroom. The blue thing is a piece of Denkmalschutz that I also never bothered to coordinate getting removed. 😐 I take max-dose two antidepressants, and still have executive function issues.
Some of these things are amazing. Like, all the components are American food, but no American would have thought to combine them like this.
The bung is a thing you put in a bunghole, which is the hole in the side of a cask.
They’ve changed it now, and no part of the map is now obscured, but it’s also way bigger than it needs to be, so I cannot see the top bar, and the bottom news stories on one pane, I have to scroll down to even see the whole map, and I cannot zoom out past 100%. (Like in pic.)
I really didn’t _want_ to be right here: Medvedev envisions the kidnapping of German Chancellor Merz With the US as a model, Russia’s ex-president Dimitry Medvedev considers kidnapping of Fredrich Merz to be conceivable. He is also threatening the President of Ukraine as well.
Nvidia may be selling shovels instead of digging for gold, but because they've reinvested that money into gold rushers, they are just as dependent on gold panning out!
