They/he. Queer (nonbinary/pan), autistic, disabled. User researcher, accessibility advocate. Talks about disability, gender, gaming.
I am also concerned that this text could be used to go after gender affirmative care
Have had a lovely week in Scotland, on our way home today via the Settle-Carlisle line. I spent too much money on books as usual. I think Lighthouse books in Edinburgh is my favourite bookshop.
My collection of remixed/arranged versions of the Nier soundtracks is looking good
Game soundtrack day in the @kitation.co.uk/ @katiefenn.bsky.social household as my Paranormasight CD and her Symphony of the Night both came today.
Our heat pump is great but Octopus tariff for it has been a massive pain in the arse. There are so many different time periods with different prices meaning things are changed around like eating time. I’m hoping I get used to it over time but it’s making my autistic “I need routine“ brain unhappy
Verdict: mostly just normal irn bru but with a warming ginger note at the end - not enough cinnamon for me but still nicer than expected
Going back to the 90s with my birthday gifts from @katiefenn.bsky.social this year!
Got through 6 books on my week off 💪 2 are YA so were relatively quick to get through to be fair. The Black Hunger was my favourite of the 6 but way too scary to read while on a plane.
Don’t forget to change your name, disability, race and employer every 90 days for extra security! 🤦🏻♂️
I’m sure this carpet looks lovely in other settings, but for stairs it’s a bit of a death trap. I’m somewhat stereoblind so I struggle with judging distance on stairs at the best of times.
I’ve always loved the one person saying “the train we on don’t go no stops” from FF7 while everyone else is saying the correct phrase
Doing the jury service feedback survey and I’ve never seen age asked like this before, I wonder what the reasoning is
So I asked this as a poll on mastodon and the clear result seems to be “it depends” - the classic answer to any accessibility question (folks could pick multiple options so won’t add up to 100%)
Made this roll top backpack in a sewing workshop yesterday, very proud of it. In a world determined to break us down it’s good to create, even if it’s something small and just for you.
More disabled people in accessibility, and tech in general please! #FrontEndNorth
100% agree with this from @olu.online Reclaiming the web must include everyone! #FrontEndNorth
