The northern sea oat is beautiful and aggressive. I plan on digging these up this fall for new homes and going low key with black eye Susan or phlox.
Family Reunion Day 1: I’m today years old learning that polo and horse stables were a thing in my grandfather’s Chicago. I also learned he used an alias for FIVE YEARS after running away to the Pacific Northwest following a fight with a high school teacher. His alias became my dad’s first name.
Meanwhile, my other library where I visit for PhD gave me a cup this week for my birthday.

Protect AR Rights wheeled in dozens of boxes of voter signatures today, July 3, at the Arkansas Capitol. The ballot issue group says they have 108,837 voter signatures for their proposed constitutional amendment they hope will qualify for the November ballot.

21 years ago today I said goodbye to a dear friend of mine who died from everything that happens to your body when you are dealing with addiction and hepatitis. I kept thinking about her and our visit to this tourist trap many years ago when I suddenly saw her favorite thing in the world. A frog.
Cool! This one where I was visiting today is one of four built in Arkansas. Little Rock sadly tore down its beautiful building. I’m obsessed with this interior. This library is very cozy!
Library funding. I was at a Carnegie library today and there was an old clip of how hard they worked to fund the operation of it.

Rainbow in Maryland yesterday. Now a super early flight home. I always forget how hotel air conditioning sets off my allergies. I’m still searching for an allergy med that doesn’t make me drowsy. Apparently I’m in that tiny subset of people who are affected by most non-drowsy pills.
Excited to be in Maryland this morning for a National Federation of Press Women board meeting. This was my first time to make it to Baltimore. Last night I checked out old Ellicott City. I hope to explore more today.
I used to need prescription drugs to get on an airplane. I have flown a few times now without them. A beautiful view but still makes my heart race.
