Leveraging the tear drop, inspired by the tear she shed to you, is what resolved the challenge! Because tear drops have sharp and round shape language. I also made a deliberate effort to choose matte- and highly reflective or opaque finishes for her beads.
“Sharp” and concave shapes don’t necessarily translate to unconditional love, a keyword I associate to Hydaelyn (and Venat). Usually rounder, softer shape language suits the idea of love.
As always, I start with shape language 🌟 in particular, Hydaelyn’s shape language was one of the most challenging for her earring design

The final result! I'm halfway settled in moving to my new place. Once I settle into a new routine, I hope to be restocking my earrings for my shop, in addition to two new XIV designs this year 🥰 In the meantime, I'll be posting these little design notes for existing earrings!
And putting everything together 🌟 This step is often the most challenging since I have to make sure everything fits, sizes are in proportion to each other, and that things look nice and pretty.
Then considering important aspects and symbolism, such as the Crystal Tower. You can't have the Crystal Exarch without the Crystal Tower, afterall! Once that's done, let's talk colors~
