We have voodoo lillies in our yard. Flower is about the size of a large hand. Smell like a dead mouse for about two days when they open.
Our pup Simon used to get car sick as a wee one. He grew out of it. I realize this is tangential to the original post but it allows me to post a pic of Simon as a puppy. Rest in power little dude.
Nice find! I stumbled upon a Jerusalem cricket last summer (potato quality picture, it was dark and it was fast) and a Mormon cricket the previous summer.
Incredible show. Played almost 3 hours. No breaks. Gave two more speeches like the opening in the video. Both equally as powerful in their message. Paid $600 for two tickets which I would normally never spend on a show. It was worth every penny.
Its song has been rhapsodized by poets for centuries. Considered by many to be the most beautiful song of any bird in North America. Looks like a boring old sparrow, sings like an angel.
About two times a year I will revisit this and I am never disappointed for doing so.
