Walked 6+ miles on a beautiful day in #Boston. Went to the #Mapparium, which is a 30’ diameter stained glass globe that you walk inside of on a bridge. Built in 1933, the countries and borders are what the were then, not now. #localtourism #stainedglass
First picture shows a very tarnished sugar bowl before the aluminum/boiling water/baking soda bath. Second shows after. Less than 5 minutes total.
I used SCIENCE today. Years of tarnish on silver. Sugar bowl put in plastic container w aluminum foil. Time lapse (less than 2 min total) of the tarnish magically disappearing when I pour in boiling water w baking soda. Reply shows bowl before/after #science #silverpolishing

2023. We trekked 45 minutes in ice and 10° weather to see the place that my husband’s mom and dad had their first “blind” date. The waiter there knew my mother-in-law and he gave her the OK when my father-in-law walked in. That was in 1953-ish. And the FOOD! Holy crap!!! So good!

Bizarrely, I am friends with a group of “boys” I taught in 6th grade and high schoo - now 38ish. We’ve had a group thread for at least 10 yrs. One of them sent this pic today. His partner made him a calendar of things she thinks are cool about him. Today’s is in this picture. 🥹

Whoa! I’m doing a FPP pattern that has well over 1000 pcs (pattern is Bali Star Wedding Ring). I truly hate it ! Just the 6 more arc sets - that’s 6 sets of 8 arcs with 8 or ten fabrics per arc. But, it will be beautiful … I hope! Pic is one partially sewn “unit” of more than 20. Yuck!
Finally finished binding this baby quilt and remembered to sew in a special label on the pillowcase. Fabrics are Tula Pink. Label is from @kylieandthemachine.

My second needle felting project was a detailed aerial view map of my house. I chose pink as a background because it needed more contrast due to all the green of the trees. I got this idea from a Valerie Goodwin class on making maps with fabric. #felting #needlefelting #feltingart #womensart
