He/Him, 32. Fan of too many things. JRPGs Nintendo, some VNs, other games, and anime are what you can expect here. Married to my amazing wife, @anliya24.bsky.social
I think the only game, now that I sit on it, where I actually do not like the new Horizontal Upscaling is Paper Mario. It kinda makes the 2D assets look more pixelated. There's some stuff that looks better but this game is mostly 2D stuff meshed with 3D stuff No upscale left, upscale right
More fun A3D Screenshots with the Horizontal Upscaling turned on with some Romhacks.
Here's a far better left and right comparison in the same place/distance. Left is no upscaling, right is with the upscaling. Both the same PVM filter.
The Analogue 3D got an update that added a Horizontal upscaling option. Unsure if I prefer it yet but it's really cool!
Here Crunchyroll has it but it's the old subtitles from like 2013 that still has this line. (I think Funi just shortened it to Epic Fail) and the dub is in licensing limbo.
Btw this is kinda what Low Poly Mario is supposed to look like when the camera zooms out, when you aren't viewing it on some 4k TV with enhanced resolution.
25. Super Mario 64 (Replay) I now have an actual cartridge of the game with all 120 Stars again!!!
Apothecary Diaries, again. My wife wanted to rewatch it. This time we watched it dubbed. Very faithful script with some fun punch ups here and there. I think I prefer most of the voice acting in Japanese. But the script is nice. Lakan's VA delivers though. Big time.
Picked these up yesterday. It literally has to do extra loading for any wild Pokémon and has a lot of sound emulation issues.
Why's Crunchyroll suddenly using the ol' fansub font? Not that I mind. That shit slaps.
23. Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Switch 2 Edition SHULK GOT THAT DAWG IN HIM 13/10
22. The Adventures of Elliot A lot of this game is just a half decent Zelda-like The true ending content is actually REALLY FUCKING GOOD though. Mixed bag of a game, but worth it for those last 4 hours.
ELLIOT SPOILERS, true end stuff I saw it coming after a few cutscenes but Holy FUCK
Here's everything version of Star Fox/Star Fox 64 ranked by me (Sorry, I don't like 64 3D much.)
21. Witch Hat Atelier Season 1 I... like it but I'm not in LOVE with it. It's about a 6 or a 7 right now, not sure. The art, animation, and VA are brilliant but I'm not fully feeling the characters yet. Also what a horrible place to end a season. Not a great cliffhanger.
20. Star Fox (2026) While I think I prefer the more campy dialogue in the OG N64 release, this version is definitely the most fun to play. The little changes to gameplay help a lot, and the new cutscenes and lore make the story more fleshed out.
19. Deltarune chapter 5 14/10 MAN THIS ISH IS GONNA ENTER MY TOP 10 GAMES AT THIS RATE. MAYBE EVEN TOP 5. FUCKING AMAZING. The secret boss and final boss are MASTERCLASS Chapters 6 and 7 could be insane.
Not too bad! Doesn't look as good as it does on the TV but still preserves the filter
