This has never happened in all our years of flying. We were the only people that stayed on the plane during a layover. Then our pilot got sick and we had to get off the plane. Then we got a new pilot and…are the only people on the plane AGAIN (for now). SUMMER TRAVEL BAYBEEEE!!!
It’s the biggest movie weekend in years so, naturally, we’re going to see…an indie sex comedy directed by Gregg Araki.😂 Time for “I Want Your Sex!”

Time was a little tight today so I did a quick walkabout to revisit my favorite spots from the last few days. The people here are unbelievably kind and friendly. If you’re ever in Mexico City, tell Fred at Galiachef hello for me. Nicest guy ever and makes the best Croque Madame I’ve ever had.
I’m not trying to brag or anything, but if you want to bring the FUN to your wedding festivities….I’m your guy. Another amazing night. Can’t wait for tomorrow! #LoRexa

We go way back with the Toy Story franchise. Toy Story 2, in particular, was a BIG fave when these guys were wee ones. So, of course, we HAVE to go see the new one. The cynic in me is hoping this isn’t merely a cash grab, but the romantic in me hopes it’s full of laughs, fun and heart.
What. A. Day. Never thought I’d see a World Cup game in person. To see it with my son only made it MORE special. Eternal thanks to Jackson’s grandfather Ron Zibilich for making it happen. I may have left my $20 World Cup popcorn bucket in the Uber, but the memories are priceless.
WHAT UP, DFW?!?!? The Melancon Boys are in Dallas!!! Jackson’s grandfather got him tickets to the WORLD CUP for his birthday but he wasn’t feeling up to the trip, so he very graciously asked me if I’d like to go. Ummmm…YES! Tomorrow is 🏴 vs 🇭🇷!!! But first…PIZZA!!!!
I have so many great memories of seeing Spielberg movies during the summers of my youth, it’s kind of neat to now watch one with my own kids. It’s time for Disclosure Day!
My brother finally decided to go through some film negatives from the 90s he had in storage and found among them this photo of me playing at Jimmy’s. I can’t be more than 19 or so here. Such youthful innocence. Well, youth anyway.🙃
Weekend washout means going to see the 25th Anniversary screening of Legally Blonde! I’m looking forward to this as I haven’t seen it since 2001 and could use some endorphins. To quote Elle Woods: “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy.”
Happy birthday to the one and only Jackson Melancon! He’ll be spending pretty much the entirety of his birthday on airplanes, but it’s okay because the destination is a two week visit to Paris and Normandy. Couldn’t be prouder or love this dude more. Have a great trip, Jackson, and happy birthday!🎊
Jackson’s actual birthday is Sunday, but he’ll be on a plane bound for Paris that day (what a hard life!) so we did his birthday dinner tonight! Great meal and great company. Happy early birthday, Jack!!!🎊🎂🎉
It feels like he just started yesterday, but here we are having dinner in Shreveport the night before Jackson graduates from Centenary College. Tempus fugit.
