Look - save the bottom of your celery, - I put one in a pot in the kitchen. Cut about an inch at the bottom of a shop-bought celery & try it. This is growing in the muddy remains of last year's kitchen waste that had sort of composted down. Am not going to eat - it is for the insects!
Here in Norwich June & the summer, has finally brought us the rain we deserve - a debt from last summer plus the dry spring... My indiscriminate patch of whatever, lacks a profusion of flowers despite having had enough seed thrown at it.
This photo shows the difference between two larids [gulls of genus Larus] - left is the herring gull Larus argentatus, right the lesser black-backed gull, Larus fuscus. People who love gulls as I do are Larophiles!

St Etheldreda's church in Norwich. The heightened porch with the niche that presumably held a statue of the saint, was paid for by Catherine Clifton, who was the richest person in Norwich 'in terms of property income' [Ayers et al 2026] when she died 1459. She married twice -her arms on the shields

See? UK food prices are low. Especially as a percentage of income. In the 80s when I lived in a shared house in Forest Hill I'd spend approx 1/3 of income on bills, 1/3 on food, & the rest for me to spend or save.
I must from the print dates, have been 14/15 when I read them - they were definitely published as children's books in the UK. I do not recall anything that might make a religious person concerned. They depict a 'Good versus Evil' story like the very religious Tolkien.

They finally put in street trees (fastigiate field maple, Acer campestis) in March, & I am very happy to say I saw a pair of goldfinches in it yesterday, while today there was a little meeting of the locals... the crab spider was walked on by the ladybird! Showed no interest in ladybird larva either
Not sure the species, but from a washed up mermaids purse [egg cases of Chondrichthyes] on the beach at Cromer (North Sea) 6 or 7 yrs ago I found this inside - probably a skate...
