St. John’s! Our last stop on this trip across Newfoundland. We’re here for five days, and I’m way more excited to see locations From Republic of Doyle than I probably should be. Duke of Duckworth, here I come. Now just need to run into Alan Doyle and Allan Hawco… 😁

The interesting thing is, I just learned that the park was established in 1962, the same year Dad was transferred back to the states and left Newfoundland. Seems fitting for that to be where a small part of him was returned. 7/7

I nominated my dad for the St. Peters Hometown Heroes program this year. The banners went up yesterday by the city's Veterans Memorial. He would have probably been both proud and a little embarrassed at seeing himself up on a banner. 🙂

Tomato plants are in. Lashed together a string trellis this year. Planted some basil for pesto as well. Decided to give a hibiscus a try again. Used to get one or two every year, but a couple years ago the squirrels went to town and ate all the leaves and left a bare stem. 😕
