MSP from KCMO. She/her/they. Abolish ICE. Cities, transportation, books, WNBA (go Lynx!), still masking bc Covid never went away and it’s not a cold. @lalaflaneuse on IG
Butler Square is flying an old state flag downtown. A Statement, or not paying attention?
If you have to have a mammogram done, it at least helps when you can walk less than a mile down the street on a sunny morning to get it done.
I got this recently from a free shelf & was going to pass it on to my neighb’s little free library but could get to you if it looks 🎯
A pet peeve of mine with ABRT platform design: too often utility boxes are blocking the sight lines for anyone seated on the provided bench. Both for rider & driver
Listening to pretty much any institution talk about our current federal occupation reinforces the feeling that we are all we’ve got in this, Minnesota. This sign is gone from my neighborhood now but the truth remains. It really is primarily up to residents working together on the front lines.
@teandoranges.bsky.social I know it's not near enough, and library workers deserve so much more and are expected to do so much. Still, thank you for what you and your colleagues do every day. Libraries and the people who run them are so foundational for our society.
Not sure when the Oak Grove Grocery awning and signs came down but now it feels official if unsurprising. Still heartbreaking.
A vending machine for Richard Scarry characters at Red Balloon, GO LYNX! painted on the street, a great hand painted sign, & Maya Moore photo.
A perfect evening for Perfect Days in the park in my neighborhood, thanks to a neighbor with a bike projector 💖
it feels like an example of how the city isn't really trying to make transit as good or better than it is now, altho the city peddles that line. (Metro Transit has not requested changes to bus service on Nicollet Mall.) +
I love that someone stuck this on it too. Thank you for providing this sanctuary 💖
Join me tonight in Loring Park at the Woman's Club (while it's still there for not much longer) for this free event. We're kicking off some final fundraising to get ready for construction to refurbish the dandelion (aka Berger) fountain in the park. Any amount helps! givebutter.com/berger-fount...
But they are bringing some back this week for Best of the Fest! I saw only two as well, The People's Way and the Librarians. Recommend both.
Thought I would stop by the Daiso store to check out what it is. Oh hell no, not today. The line just to get in goes around the building! Another day then 😂
I always feel sad at what we lost with Nice Ride when I wait for the bus here.
One of our newly identified internal organizational values is "adapting to change." In staff meeting, people were bemoaning the "conference crud" in reference to getting sick after being at a conference. Huh. At the risk of a jinx, I don't usually have that. Wonder why. Me on conference break
Second day in a row I’ve been early for the 94 so I hang in the Crystal Court for a bit. Perfect space for that.
Waiting for the 94 at a new combined stop w/ the Gold and B lines. Noting the same issue as w/ my old A Line stop which is if you sit on the bench in the heated shelter, you can’t see the bus well before it arrives at the stop. And other benches are too far away. +
The old Minneapolis public library logo is perfection. digitalcollections.hclib.org/digital/coll...
Took off a little early today to go ride Northstar out and back while it’s still here.
Sure seems like anyone looking at this map of potential speed camera pilot locations would be better informed when viewing it next to the city's High Injury Streets, where there are concentrations of fatal + serious injury crashes.
While limited supplies last! Fold up buses with the beautiful We are on Dakota land design, only at the government game night art shanty on Lake Harriet today until 4pm!
Quote with a bridge of your own (do you know how hard it was for me to pick just one from the zillions on my phone)
