Give me a single image from a film that immediately makes you hear the song from the soundtrack in your head
Kendal Calling Friday and Saturday. Didn’t manage Sunday as I made the bad choice of going to Edinburgh to see the ‘mighty’ Hibees. Now on train regretting my choices.
Car to local garage so thought I would run home back over the fell as part of my Dramathon training this morning. Mistake. 10 minutes under a cold shower and I was still leaking…🥵
13 miles yesterday. Walked up most of Hallin Fell, it’s a steep wee bastard. The Dramathon is a bit flatter but still 26 plus miles.
Dramathon training continues …. I’m at the ‘have I bitten off more than I can chew’ stage of training. Ran from the house up over Askham Fell down to Howtown then up Hallin Fell, one of Wainwright’s faves, and back. On the plus side, it’s getting me up some hills again…
Just me carrying our old girl Clover downstairs which I do every morning and up every night. She’s 14, always slept near her previous mum and when we inherited her next to my side of the bed.
In my 68th year on this rock I’ve decided to do my first marathon in October. The ‘Dramathon’ is a trail marathon that goes by umpteen distilleries in the north of Scotland. At the end you get a miniature from each of them. That’s my incentive. I will also be fundraising for @cr_uk
What do you do when you have a poorly hen? Take out the front for a change of scenery to help her recovery. Mrs A supervising.
Just a normal night at Chez Ashton or the rescue hen recovery unit……. Dottie and April recovering from various ailments. Clover oblivious.
Lovely wee creatures. My encounter at a wildlife centre outside Melbourne.
This tofu is firm and doesn’t need squeezed to get the moisture out. Cube it and use as a chicken/meat substitute in curries/chillies etc…. Also Bosh do great tasty vegan meals but I use real butter.
Lovely day at Healesville sanctuary with Auntie Joy and Uncle Colin. Tons of pics to process from the camera later. Hat was a prezzie from Joy and the t shirt from my son James.
Great performance and delighted for young Owen to get his first goal. Jamie McGrath was outstanding. 💚
Anyone want a howling Kelpie? To be fair, he only howls when Mrs A blows her nose now. Or we cuddle ( infrequently) or the landline goes off ( infrequently).
Beach life, Santa Cruz with the family. Rocking the retro Scotland kit. 🏴🏴🏴
Basketball tonight for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G league. Good fun even though they lost.
New Year’s Day, probably about 2017. Thought it would be a good idea to see the new year in on top of Blencathra at dawn. Mrs A couldn’t stand up at the top it was so windy. Meanwhile Misty was pondering his life choices as his eyebrows frosted over. Not impressed.
It was a post on another site re this bottle and a potential Scottish cup win!
Back home for the derby. I predict a 0-0 slugfest. Just like the old days…
Merry Christmas to you all from the Lakes where I’m in a food coma and the Olds are forcing me to watch Corrie. Send help.
These came up on my FB memories the other day. My dearly, departed muse, Kia. A trained killer, a PAT (pets as therapy) dog and my assistant when baking. Ruled the Collies like a canine despot. 🥰
Roxy aka Harriet Houdini escaped from next door this morning so we had the pleasure of her company for 10 minutes. She’s a ‘character’….🥰
Flash, saviour of my universe, on the Fell a couple of days ago. He’s 13 and very wobbly on his back end but still enjoys his walks. 🥰
