My super power is turning info and materials into family heirlooms. That's why we don't have a nice dining room.
I learned so much about FDR, Eleanor and that administration. My brain was full by the time my husband and I left. What a stark contrast to the current administration. We need a new New Deal. And we saw this, 3rd edition, published in 1776!
@hrichardson.bsky.social @jbf1755.bsky.social you talked about curiosity about history being generational. Last week, I visited the FDR Presidential Museum. Noting the ages of visitors, it was heartening to see young people, late 20s to 40s. However, most of the visitors were my age, 60s, and older.
The Roosevelt's say "hello" from the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum.

My parents dressed in outfits made by my mom for the Bicentennial Ball in my hometown of Lexington, MA. I still have the outfits.
When a poem came to Dad, he wrote on whatever was available no matter where he was.
Past projects. One of the hardest, emotionally. A memorial scrapbook for my baby brother.
Past projects. A scrapbook, taking everything off of my mother's posterboards from a retreat and putting them in a scrapbook.
You may know this.. Internet Archive online has some Powell Family books. I googled the author of ours, Powell books by Silas Emmett Lucas Jr. He authored more than one, one of them being about 8 lines. (see pic) Sadly, I remember references to slaves being willed way back in our Powell Family book.
Current project: organizing, scanning and sharing my parents' and grandparents' collections of photos and memorabilia.
I feel like I've hijacked this post from HATM 🫢 but this is my family's page and my cousin's explanation of how we descend from Powells.
At the bottom of the post, "Translate" appears next to "Everybody can reply," so I clicked it just for fun.
My exercise mat is actually a magic carpet. I plop it on the floor, grab weights, turn back around and just like magic, she has appeared 🌟
Our next door neighbor found our dog's favorite toy, a Nerf dumbell, on the other side of his yard. Our yard is fenced in, but... my theory is the toy was out foxed! Foxes can scale and jump chain link fences and like to play with toys, and this one is easy to carry off 😁
