And she's all together! Still wanna weather her some but she's done for now.
Tender is gonna stay disassembled all night, probably all day tomorrow too, for the glue to dry. I love how she's turning out so far!
Also did some rough plannings as to what I want to have in terms of buildings.
Broke out my old camera and took a couple pictures of my J36. Wild this model's tooling is 15 years newer than the camera.
In my goal to do something with my layout every day, I labled my P-class' box with her DCC address.
I would love to fit my whole fleet all at once but that's not really in the cards for me at the moment. The only reason the 48 got fitted when it did is because the decoder I got wouldn't fit in my Terrier (but it fit in the 48, make it make sense). (Both mentioned engines pictured below.)
It took me all day, but the rest of the cork has been glued, the holes drilled, and the track weathered and glued.
I've just decided that the J36 exists solely to be my test bed. This is my first time trying to weather something other than a freight car. I don't know how happy I am, you can only go so far with acrylics and no powder I guess.. Ah well. Gonna try to get some before I do the engine.
I did not forget about the S15 getting drafted. Just the tender was an.. ordeal..
Okay but I have the J36 a coal load instead using floral filler and soot ballast
I didn't get much done today beyond gluing some cork down for the feeder track.
Once I'm more confident, I wanna try weathering her (and adding an LED to her interior). Until then I've got a Guard to run the brakes and a cat (of my choice~) to keep him company!
Happy #ToadThursday ! New in for me is this AA20 Toad brakevan by Rapido! I love that it has an interior.
She's taking supplies to the harbor to be shipped to Verdun. (WWI munitions train)
You can really tell how much weathering helps the *feel* of a model by directly comparing weathered and unweathered models like this, even if they're of different prototypes.
