Lambeth Green Party

Progressive politics for a sustainable society in Lambeth, London UK. Promoted by Kevin Brown on behalf of Lambeth Green Party at Flat 20, Stambourne House, Lansdowne Way, SW8 2DH
According to thinktank Verdant, the record heatwaves this summer have already cost us £4.4 billion in lost economic output. Every day that our government doesn't take real action, the cost goes up.
We need real change - and we need action, right now. The Greens are calling for immediate action to keep people safe, tackle the wildfires, and protect our food and water supply. But we need to change the whole system away from profit for the few and towards people and planet.
But in the fact of this crisis, our government is in denial. Oil giants and privatised water are still making huge profits from our hiked bills, but Labour is going for more drilling, more profit, and more emissions.
The impact of wildfires in the UK has been huge. In France and Spain, it's been apocalyptic. Climate breakdown is already destroying our habitats and homes, and the heating means these changes could be irreversible.
We've had a summer of climate catastrophe - that will almost certainly be beaten by next summer, and the summer after that. But our government are failing us. We need to fight back.
Don't miss exciting events to celebrate Jamaica's Independence Day and the incredible contributions of the Windrush community in Brixton, Lambeth, and the whole UK!
A statement from Martin Abrams, leader of Lambeth Council, and the Lambeth Green Party on the IOPC's decision to hold no disciplinary proceedings against the officer who shot Chris Kaba.
Whether you're finally relaxing after a long summer of campaigning or brand new to the Green Party, we want to see you on Friday for our summer social at the Crown & Sceptre on Streatham Hill! Sign up here: actionnetwork.org/events/lambe...
Rosebank requires the public to shoulder 80% of the cost while the profits flow overseas. Meanwhile, Lambeth residents are already living through record-breaking heat. We’re calling on Helen Hayes, Steve Reed, Bell Ribeiro-Addy and Florence Eshalomi to keep their promise: no new fossil fuel licences
There is so much work to do but we're absolutely thrilled to have got these motions over the line last night 💚 🍀
The incredible Michael Ball has been elected as Clapham Park's newest Green councillor! It's a clear mandate for change as the Greens remain the largest party in Lambeth.
Can you 🫵 help us 👆️ on Thurs 9 July? We can win both these seats, but we need to get the vote out. Even a couple of hours will make a huge difference. Sign up now: actionnetwork.org/events/st-le...
We have two crucial by-elections on Thurs 9th July that could decide whether we get real change and real hope with Lambeth Greens, or a return to the second-most complained about council in the country. Give us a hand! Sign up for polling day now 👇️ actionnetwork.org/events/st-le...
Andy Burnham was nowhere to be seen today – only hope and change. We don't need a new face on the same broken system. We need to shift wealth and power to our communities, fight the climate crisis and the far right, and make hope normal again.
U-turn Burnham spurns 'em as Green team reigns supreme in scene-stealing dream
So great to see so many community businesses supporting the Greens on 9 July in Streatham St Leonard's!
Lambeth needs Greens! Beautiful group out today in St Leonard's getting posters up everywhere - residents are desperate not to miss out the chance for changing Lambeth's rotten culture! Only Greens can do that in St Leonard's
In the by-election on 9th July, Steve Reed's really keen that Lambeth gives Labour another chance. I'm not so sure we should.
Don't let Labour sneak back in! We need your help canvassing in Lambeth's crucial by-elections. Can you join us this week? You can RSVP at lambeth.greenparty.org.uk/events/ or just turn up!
Greens are ready to win the by-election in Clapham Park! Incredible response from residents who are so excited to have a Green councillor for the first time
If you need support, please get in touch with us or any of the below organisations.
The new EHRC code of practice will exclude and harm our trans communities. Lambeth's Green councillors are calling on local MPs @helenhayes.bsky.social @bellribeiroaddy.bsky.social Steve Reed and Florence Eshalomi to oppose it, sign EDM 240 against it, and stand with Lambeth's trans residents.
Steve Reed turned the wind machine on but he didn't stop us speaking to residents in St Leonard's about the Greens saving the local dementia day centre (while Labour and the Lib Dems just hiked their own pay)
Lambeth's new Green Leader Martin Abrams has announced an immediate pause to closing the Central Hill Dementia Day Centre. The day centre does incredible work – we, including our new Gipsy Hill Green Councillors Pete and Chloe, supported Lambeth Unison's petition to keep the centre open
Not forgetting our Cabinet Member for Economy, Cost of Living, and Empowered Communities Cllr Michael Chessum!
And finally, our Cabinet Member for Safer, Thriving Neighbourhoods will be Cllr Jonathan Bartley!
Our Cabinet Member for Transport, Environment, and Climate Crisis is Cllr Ciara Alleyne
