Screen grab from Sky and telescope magazine website. It’s the cosmic bat nebula. It’s a dark nebula. It looks fuzzy and cute yet terrifying against a backdrop of the universe. Apparently it’s a 12 light year wide cloud. I want it so bad.

Kiddo ran out of steam before die toten hosen so now I am sitting on the balcony with some mint sprite in a very clement and breezy Berlin evening listening to the swifts and yes it would have been great but also this is all fine.

Not particularly picturesque view of Berlin but quite mitte … the brachiosaurus is sleeping just across the road. Trees in the evening sunlight. Edge of a balcony. Calm evening sky. Probably a hooded crow flying top and centre.

Okay I think I want a new tattoo

A relief of a very derpy lion in Neues museum Berlin. Is he Assyrian? I couldn’t linger so I couldn’t do full investigation. He is very derpy. He has Assyrian style stars all over his body and a crescent around his neck. I want him very much.

The star jasmine is finally flowering and pretty fragrant this evening

My current ‘ai is crap’ soapbox is how bad it is at pattern matching in photos. Thought this was a bug, and previously insisted St Paul’s was Buckingham Palace (like I would ever) just bc very popular railings vs actual finial pattern matching. Harrumph.

A photo of the spiral staircase at Monument looking up. Yes it’s pleasing how it replicates patterns in nature but also it’s some effing stairs. iPhone tried to match it to an insect or an African clawed frog. Clearly ai image interpretation has a big railings and rails blind spot.

These Hampton court palace festival things are a very very strange experience

Hampton court palace looking all palace-y. Red brick and crenellations, chimneys and a flag). Old. Very very uncomfortable grey folding chairs cable tied together (now I see why you could rent a cushion for FOUR POUNDS?????), some castley flag stones and some slightly disoriented stranglers fans milling around.

Put my required monthly quest points up to 60 and expect me to spend 15 minutes learning to earn one? Duolingo, that’s not a quest, that’s a hostage situation.

Listen to 7 exercises to win a chest that is just going to be 1.5 xp for 10 mins or a pile of gems that land like a pile of blue poo. Earn 50xp - whatever. Tap tap tap honestly fuck the ‘epic’ chest. It’s not epic. It’s rubbish. And the dreaded spend 15 minutes “learning”. The only positive thing to say about it is it’s not 20 minutes. And I can’t earn suit points anymore. Not that I wanted to bc they all looked stupid anyway but it’s just another emblem of how annoying and inconsistent the whole app is. Don’t even get me started on the actual content …
