Engineer, writer, inventor, (non-gun-oriented) prepper, cook. Seeker of lost humanity; if found *please* help revive it! A literal rocket scientist (aeronautical engineer.) Maker (mostly mechatronics), solopreneur, bootstrapper, proto-founder.
One never knows what'll turn up when rototilling, especially new ground. Yesterday while tilling at max. depth, I turned up this horseshoe. Rototiller is undamaged, yay! This could have been from 50 years ago or 150. I hope the horse and rider were OK.
Lentil soup, as requested by my Muse. Lentils, two ham hocks, mirepoix, tomatoes, potatoes, and a parsnip. Victory, I didn't need to switch to a larger pot, part wat through making it!
Lilacs in my neighbor's back pasture, with one of their roosters at the far left.
I'm motivating myself to break more old turf into vegetable garden with a yummy salad with homemade garlicky Bleu cheese dressing. How garlicky? I fear it may violate one or more nuclear arms treaties!
Tonight's dinner is an omelette with turkey sausage, avocado, and pepper-jack cheese.
My Muse and I made chicken penne Alfredo with asparagus and mushrooms. I should NOT have thirds!
Eggs from my neighbor's free-range flock, very tasty! Breakfast for dinner in progress.
Tonight's pizza is a BBQ-sauced pizza, with chicken cooked in homemade BBQ sauce, mozzarella, mushrooms and red bell pepper.
Pizza inbound to oven with most of its toppings: mushrooms, pepperoni, onions, and tomato.
It's *cold* outside! I'm keeping the wood stove stoked and praying that our well-head is protected enough!
Tonight's pizza has mushrooms, olives, linguisa sausage, Canadian bacon -- garnished with Parmesan and fresh basil.
The does and fauns are scrounging for chickenfeed left by the neighbors chickens.
The Mother of Lasagnas (fills the turkey roasting pan!) going into the oven now. If we get snowed in we won't starve.
My 1st try cooking on this wood stove (black beans), not just boiling water to keep the air from getting too dry.
Omelette-saurus: seven eggs, a duck breast, cremoni mushrooms and Swiss cheese!
Spatchcocked duck over bread/cornbread/brown-rice dressing, just out of the oven. Smells to die for!
