I tried a coloured shading this time - simply a thinned purple speed paint on the basecoats - and think it works surprisingly well, even with the 'normal lighting' base.

Want a tip for writing stuff on minis? Get a white gel roller, this kind is what I use - it's basically white paint in a pen, and a lot easier to control than a brush
