I’ve had the WatchDuty app since the beginning (I live in SoCal 🔥,) but the first time I zoomed way out was a couple of weeks ago when my family back in MN had 600+ AQI from the fires in the Boundary Waters. I was like 😳! Screenshot from July 15:

Thanks! They were so cute. We first briefly saw the family at the top of the trail (Inspiration Point.) But they scurried off. Then when we were on the way down we saw them again. This is when we first saw them.
On our early morning hike we saw a mom and dad quail with about 10 youngsters. So darn cute. 🪶
I saw a peregrine falcon today in DTLA! I was coming out of a building after dropping something off at my friend’s studio and heard a bird sound I didn’t recognize. Consulted Merlin Bird ID, and then looked up and got this crappy video. 🪶
I have the AQMD app and I’m confused about how it reports air quality. For instance, right now it’s showing AQI as green. I don’t see the Boyle Heights alert without clicking into the SCAQMD tab at the bottom, and then clicking through to the website. Why doesn’t it show the red zone on the app?
RIP Jimmy Burrows. I had the opportunity to watch him direct several times when my best friend, Amy Pietz was on Caroline in the City. Absolutely electric. So inspiring. Condolences to his family.

I dropped my ballot in the ballot box at the Venice library on Monday and it still hasn’t been processed as of Thursday afternoon. I think it’s gonna be a while before we have actual results in LA County.

2 coyotes were waiting for the gate to open this morning at 7am at Will Rogers State Park. One posed in front of the sign for me. 😊
No red-nosed deer sightings today, but it was a beautiful morning hike at Will Rogers State Historic Park.
