Since so many artists released music recently, here's one that I think deserves more attention! His new album reminds me of a cross between Noah Kahan and old Ed Sheeran, but still unique.
So far it looks like we're just getting outfits, but I'm hoping we'll get at least one of the actual characters too!
Nowadays my mind connects everything to a horror movie or Taylor Swift, but purple reminds me of Together. In that film the characters quite literally "melt" into each other as a metaphor for their codependent relationship. The album feels like it narrates their story, but with a happier ending.
Do you ever hear a song that's good, but sounds like it was meant for a different genre? That's how I feel about this. It's country, but I swear it should be a jazz singer slurring that chorus and humming over a sultry saxophone.
I'll probably never get over the cancellation of First Kill, but at least it introduced me to Imani Lewis. I'm excited for this!
I've only listened to a handful of songs by this band, but I love them already. If they told me they were time travelers from the early 2000s, I'd believe them.
