Here’s a polymetric thing from the same Octatrack, Digitone II, Lyra-8, setup I’ve been using lately. One of the samples on the OT sounds a bit like birds, but it’s actually a different animal, pitched down.

Here’s some pretty fm synth stuff on the Digitone II along with various samples on the Octatrack including a field recording I took at Copper Harbor on Lake Superior last year. The Lyra-8 is dirtying everything up.

Here I’m running Eurorack into norns with the Lepidoptery script. I tried Lepidoptery out because I thought it might be interesting, but it’s way cooler than I expected. I’ve been zoning out to it all morning. Might have to do a live set with this setup at some point.

Here I’m running the pt5 script on norns and sending it into the Octatrack, where it’s being sampled, processed, and resampled in real time. There’s some other stuff on the OT in there as well. #monomenorns #octatrack #phenotropicprogramming

It’s slightly out of view, but I’m playing a keyboard here like a real musician for once. The Minilogue is making the spacey filter sweep stuff. The Eurorack is doing the rhythm and melody.

Not my best patch, but maybe my most successful use of chaos (not randomness) to date. It never repeats, just follows its own logic, getting stuck in weird states for minutes at a time before falling back out. My favorite part is when Braids makes the weird baby sounds. #modularsynth #eurorack

Expanding on ideas from yesterday’s patch, I took things a little further and got weird with it.

I updated the firmware on Pamela’s New Workout. Here I’ve set boolean logic conditions on the top row of outputs, which are rotated by an external CV source.

I accidentally made some weird modular synth funk. Everything is controlled by by Pam’s sending low-probability trig (2% chance) and CV patterns. The voices run through two long tempo-synced delay loops with 100% feedback, creating slowly developing patterns.

Playing at the D.M.V. in Denver this Friday. Show starts at 8pm and I’m up first. My practice runs have been going good and the lineup is great. Looking forward to it!

Excerpt from today’s Eurorack session. Percussion from the Serge VCFQ, mangled birdsongs on the Bastl Wavebard, watery splashes from the Phonogene, and Mutable Elements providing some angular banjo. Sounds good to me.

Home sick from work and made this. 92 BPM (slow for me) jam with FM synthesis, physical modeling, and filter pings on the Eurorack.

I expanded my Arduino Wave Bard controller with two additional mutating shift registers, LEDs, and a randomize button that resets the number of steps and beats in the Euclidean rhythm as well as the patterns in the shift registers. Sometimes the results are musical, sometimes not so much.

I made an Arduino controller for my Bastl Wave Bard. It generates Euclidean rhythms and Turing Machine style CV with repeating sequences that slowly shift over time.

It’s freezing out, so I skipped my usual lunchtime run and threw this together real quick. Just two modules, Pam’s New Workout and MI Elements, plus the Wave Bard. Really liking the bird samples on the Wave Bard here. Definitely going to explore this setup more.
