Amy Acton and ODP are laser focused on denying trans people the right to participate in public life. You'll also note in the image what we want is an apology, LGBT rights respected, and a meeting with Acton- not Vivek Ramaswamy to win. So maybe stop saying that's what we want to happen.

"Advocates say they want an apology, a clear plan from Acton on LGBTQ+ rights and another meeting, this time with Acton in attendance.

Spokespersons for both the ODP and Acton's campaign offered statements, but did not address what happened on the Zoom meeting. Acton campaign spokesperson Addie Bullock said, in part, "Acton is laser-focused on building a brighter futre for all Ohioans" and criticized Ramaswamy.

ODP Communications Director Marisa Nahem said, in part, "The Ohio Democratic Party is united in our support for Dr. Amy Acton and laser-focused on her agenda to lower costs."

I continue to worry about the climate because not one day, not one day did we go past 84 degrees and yet each summer is getting hotter and hotter. Winter isn't winter anymore, and I'm tired of pretending it's normal. I'm freaking the fuck out because Ohio isn't supposed to have Florida's climate

Kim Kelly's response to the news of the bombing of Iran lashes out against the multiple industries built solely around human misery: the military, immigration, and incarceration industrial complexes. For contrast, Talarico's post is four words without soul: a politician's slogan that is insufficient on its face and as unlikely to enact change as it is likely to earn him a few votes in this moment.
For what it's worth, this isn't a problem specific to Talarico, but baked into our political system where work lives, social lives, and personal lives consume so much of our time we can't be an informed and engaged electorate at scale and the minimally informed voters don't listen to their class peers who do keep up with politics and value their voter's intuition or present mood or the last thing they heard over long-formed and strongly-held positions.

If we're going to argue we aren't gerrymandered to fuck, we need to show up and fill out for down ballot elections. #OHpolitics

Maybe the lesson once again is not centering the politician, but the policy. The campaign promises that made him popular are still popular. I don't know what to believe rn but don't want to defend a Nazi. Regardless of the truth, I think his campaign is over. Anyways, here's that platform.

Ohio gerrymandering simplified. There are 3 congressional districts (of 15) that are competitive. The two held by Democrats have a margin of .7 and 2.2% of the vote. OH-7 had a spoiler candidate take 12.8%, favoring Max Miller (R). How is there incentive to run for any opposition in the other 12?

In brief, rent increased 10% over 2012-2021 that cannot be explained by inflation. Rent prices have outpaced real wage growth for the 20th percentile (the lowest-earning fifth of Ohioans). One Quarter of renters are spending 50% or more on rent. There is an outsized racial disparity among black renters (31%) and white renters (22%) with severe rent burden.
